I am having so much fun (and not, cuz it’s a lot to do, lol) of getting all of my scattered data organized in the app. There are a few things I would like to be considered for future updates.

In the set location, we should be able to pull from our contacts. I have tasks and things that have to do with people and their location, and it would be nice to not have to manually add the address.

More visual guides on how to make best use of the app. I know it is so vast, the possibilities are endless. I am having some trouble working out how to use some things, like goals, I can’t associated projects that pertain to reaching the goal, which is how I envision it, and if i am misunderstanding, that is why real world examples that would help me, a mom, wife and entrepreneur, organize the different aspects of my days and ideas.

A way to extract from Facebook feed, and website bookmarks, pictures and tips, instructions, whatever, to create notes and files and task lists. If I am missing how to do that, again, a guid would help.

A way to be able to get more out of Facebook and other feeds, I have things I have “saved” for ideas for later, and they are way too old to show up in my app.

I will probably think of more, those are just the things I am trying to work thru right now!

Thanks for this app, I can’t wait for you guys to be able to get the android up, my husband would love it!

      Hi Lisa,

Thank you for reaching out to us, and for letting us know that you’re having fun using our app!

      1. We do support using location from iOS contact. However, if you have a task assigned to an owner (contact) who has a location, the task will not show in the near-me map view, you will have to add a location to the task manually. We will look into it and find out what is involved in supporting this.

      2. We are constantly improving our online help and help videos. We would encourage you to try our blog (http://lightarrow.com/blog) for some examples (with step-by-step instructions) of using our products for certain real-world scenarios.
Have you watched our how-to videos on YouTube? If not, you could find them here: http://www.youtube.com/user/LightArrowInc
Also, we would suggest trying the frequently-asked questions on the Tips and Answers page on our web site: http://lightarrow.com/lifetopix/common-questions

      3. Here is a blog post on creating actionable data from emails, Facebook/Twitter feeds, Evernote, websites, etc.: http://lightarrow.com/introducing-pro-inbox-create-actionable-data-email-web-social-streams

We also love talking to our power users to understand various scenarios and needs. If you’re open to that, please send us an email to support@lightarrow.com. We are available Mon-Fri 10 AM to 4:30 PM and we’re located in Austin, TX (US Central time).

Hi LightArrow team, I gave up using your app for a while out of sheer frustration, but I so want to get this app set up and working for me because this is the only productivity app that has it all. Basically my frustration is that you cant separate and manage recurring tasks separately to one-off tasks. I was getting overwhelmed as I have a lot of recurring tasks and ended up ignoring them altogether! (Having ADD is so much fun!) What I would like to be able to do is firstly have recurring tasks show up in a different colour to the one-off tasks, secondly be able to filter them out and thirdly have a menu where I could go to to manage just my recurring tasks. So my workaround to this problem was to set up recurring todos in the IOS calendar because then you can choose a different colour and also filter them out if you choose to do so. But have you ever tried working with tasks in the IOS calendar? Its extremely difficult and there is no oversight to all your tasks. Not to mention how annoying it is to manage your tasks in two different apps. So I know you guys can create miracles :-) so hopefully you have, or can come up with, a workable solution here.

      Hi Celia,

Thank you for reaching out to us! We apologize for the frustrations you’re experiencing, and will work with you to resolve these issues.

We have a solution for the first issue you mentioned. In the 8.1 release which is currently available in the app store we added a feature where you can override default colors for items within the LifeTopix app. In the “My Settings” view you can enable a setting called “Override Item Color with Context”. When that setting is enabled you can override the Task color with the Context Tag color that is set for the task.

In the 8.2 release which is expected to be made available in September we will add the capability to filter out recurring tasks, and a better way to manage recurring tasks.

Please do not hesitate if you have any further questions for comments.

Thats good news about the filtering. With the colours thats not quite so useful for me, as I dont always use contexts. Also as a side note you dont appear to be able to change the colours of existing contexts. I am curious how the filtering will work, because the way I see it you would have to treat one-off tasks and recurring tasks as two separate items in order to filter them on and off separately.

          Hi Celia,

Thanks for reaching out to us again. To change the color for Context Tags navigate to the Contexts view, then tap on the tile of the context you want to change. Next tap the gear button in the lower right hand corner. When you tap the Color field you’ll see all the colors you can choose from.

Another way you can manage the Context Tags is on any of the list views that you can Group by Context there is a “Manage Contexts” button. On the Contexts view you can tap a context and then tap the color button and change it there as well.

Yes, we would treat one-off tasks and recurring tasks as two separate items in the filter (both initially checked) in order to filter them on and off separately.

    Hello!
I’m trying to set my Goals in your wonderful app (and in my life too…).
I follow the procedure you suggest but, unfortunately, when I try to view my metrics by tapping All Entries the app closes.
Here below you can find the procedure I follow to view logs (an extract from your website).
I can begin to insert logs and view them as a list, waiting for you to fix the bug.
I thank you in advance, I know that you will promptly answer, as usual.

    Gabriella Mussi

How to view your logged goal metrics in a list and/or graph:
You can view data and enter data from the view described below.

    Tap the Goals tile.
Tap the goal form, tap View Log Items.
Choose All Entries. (Here I’m thrown out of the app!)
A list, plot, line, or bar chart displays. To change the view, tap List, Plot, Line, and Bar – depending on the chart or list you want to display.
If you wish to view the Legend, tap Show Legend.

I am currently trying to set up a new Exchnage email inbox account. The problem I am having is that the settings require a “Server Port” number – I have no server port numbers in my outlook settings and when I called my IT support desk thay had no port numbers to provide to me either. No server port numbers were required when I set up my exchnage email on my iPad or iPhone. Any suggestions?

      Hi Larry,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

MS Exchange supports many forms of authentication. Our Exchange support has only been tested for Exchange Online hosted by Microsoft. Supported configuration includes IMAP4 for “Exchange Online” with SSL/TLS option.

The Exchange port number for IMAP is usually set to 993 in most corporate environments.

We currently do not support some typical corporate Exchange environments, such as the Microsoft NTLM authentication and others. This is due to the limitations of the underlying 3rd party technology we use in our apps.

We are working on making our support of Exchange broader over future updates, starting with LifeTopix 8.1.2 and Pro.Inbox 1.1.2 next week, and updates after that.

We would appreciate it if you could find out the supported methods of authentication that are being used in your corporate MS Exchange server and send us a list of these. This would help us greatly.

Should you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Hello! The new UI is awesome!
I can’t find “Override Item Color with Context” in My Settings view. I have My.Agenda with LifeTopix Pack on my iPad.

    Thank you. Gabriella.

      Gabriella,
Thanks so much for reaching out with the kind words!
You are correct – that’s a bug – that option should be there in My.Agenda when you have the LifeTopix Pack. We apologize, and we’ll fix it in the next update. We’ve already submitted a 3.1.1 update for My.Agenda to Apple, so we’ll fix this in the next one – 3.1.2.

After finishing one task I choose status as completed. But I dont want to see completed tasks in my list. How can I make it?

      Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

On the Agenda view you can you can filter out completed tasks by tapping the filter button on the top right corner and unchecking the “Include Closed Items”. If you are in the Tasks list view you can filter out completed Tasks by setting the filter located on the upper left hand side next to the Grouping button to “Open Only”.

Please do not hesitate if you have any further questions for comments.

Fantastic app, great update, thank you! I am wondering how to delete a recurring single finished task without deleting all instances. When I tap the option to delete current, not the delete all instances, it deletes all instances anyway. I have tried it several times and it deletes all instances every time.
Also, is there a way to add another calendar in the left hand column? I would like to be able to easily switch back and forth between my calendar and my son’s calendar without having to flip the screen and check and uncheck boxes. Thank you for continuing to listen to us and provide ongoing updates, too many apps start out great and then fizzle out, so glad you haven’t done that!

I’ve got to say bravo on the update. This is the best time management app that I’ve used and I’ve used several. The ability to create tasks from email is great. A homerun. I know this may be too much to ask but I’m going to swing for the fences. The notebooks app I have can extract tasks by line from notes. Also by paragraph. It would literally make me jump out of my seat for that to be a part of what is already a great app. The usefulness of this already outweighs that feature so much that I use this one instead. But that is one thing I miss that would give me the best of all worlds. Just asking. Great job guys.

      Jim,

Thank you so much! You made our day!

We do plan to support the ability to convert notes (as well as individual text blocks in notes) into other items, such as tasks, appointments, projects, etc. As you are aware, we already allow you (from our Pro Inbox in app purchase feature) the ability to convert emails, tweets, Facebook posts, web content etc. into items such as notes, projects, trips, tasks, appointments, etc. We will utilize that same technology to allow for conversions within our own items, like the example above.

      Thank you again!
