LifeTopix works seamlessly with your device’s Calendar application. When you define a date-related item, a reminder for that date will be added to your device’s Calendar application. These reminders are set according to the default reminder schedule specified in the My Settings section of LifeTopix Settings.
Note that for date-related items you create in LifeTopix, if you make any changes to the reminders for those items directly in your device’s Calendar, those changes will not be reflected back in LifeTopix.
The topic objects which have a date attribute are:
- Tasks
- Projects
- Events
- Occasions
- Shopping Lists
- Trips and Visits
- Bills

Steven
I sync LifeTopix with my Iphone’s calendar. Nonetheless I disabled Facebood calendars to show in my device’s calendar, it shows in LifeTopix (birthdays, events, etc).
How can I disable this please?
Thanx in advance
LightArrow
Hi Steven,
Thanks for the question! LifeTopix includes the entries from your device Calendar app (you can specify which calendars) as well as entries from the device Reminders app in the Agenda and My Calendar views to give you a complete picture. If you go to the filter in those views (top right filter icon, below the + icon) you can control which calendars to include.

Hi Team,
Just a quick question regarding appointment alerts on LifeTopix.
When I create an appointment it automatically sets the alert at two days before the event. If I manually edit the alert to be ‘on the same day’, I only receive the alert at the time of the event unless I edit the alert it in the standard calendar in iPhone or iPad, which defeats the purpose of using the app in the first place.
Is there any way to set multiple alerts (e.g. 1 day before event and 2 hours before) or change the time of the alert so that the appointment time hasn’t been reached before I even get the reminder?
Thanks and kind regards,
Daniel
LightArrow
Hi Daniel,
We are enhancing our reminder/alerts flexibility in the near future, both in terms of time options, as well as “alert sets” — most likely in our 6.1 (April) and 6.2 (May) updates.

Hi,
I have been using LifeTopix for the past few weeks and find it very useful. I currently have two google calendars, one for personal use and one for business. I share the google calendars for business with my friends and I put it as the default cal in LifeTopix. The problem arose when i wanted to create a personal event, and i do not want to share it, using LifeTopix. Is there any way to select the intended calendar in LifeTopix. I sync both cals with my devices cals (iphone, ipad). Thanks.

Hi Lukman,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.
We are working on enhancing LifeTopix to provide an option allowing users to specify which calendar to use when adding an item (such as an event, appointment, task, etc.).
In the meantime you can accomplish this by adding a “Device Event” from either the “Quick Menu” (green arrow icon located at the bottom left of the main screen) or from “My Calendar”. When a “Device Event” is added you can choose the device calendar to use. Once the item is created you can, from the “My Agenda or “My Calendar” year view, tap on the more button (green down arrow icon located just to the right of the item) and convert the device event to a local type in LifeTopix.
We thank you for your patience as we work hard to get this new feature out.
Best regards,
Team LightArrow

I had the same question as Lukman, but figured I would just have to add events using the stock calendar app if I needed them on the non-default calendar. Thanks for the workaround. I’ll take it!

Hi
iPhone5, iOS6. LifeTopix cant find the device calendar. Finds it no problems on iPad2, iOS6. Thanks. Chris
LifeTopix Support
Hi Chris,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.
Make sure that LifeTopix on your iPhone has been granted access to your device calendar and contacts. To check this, simply go to the device settings app on your iPhone and tap on it. Now tap on “Privacy”. You will notice there is a section for Contacts and Calendars. Tap on Contacts and you will see an entry for LifeTopix. Make sure the switch is set to the ON position. Now go back and check the Calendars privacy settings to make sure LifeTopix has been granted access. After you have confirmed LifeTopix has been granted access to Contacts and Calendars open LifeTopix again and see if you can now see your calendars.
If you still do not see the calendars check the following:
LifeTopix searches the device for calendars included on the device. These device calendars are listed in the filter view for each LifeTopix calendar view. If you go to “My Calendar” for example and tap the filter button (located at the top right below the “+” button) you will see the list of calendars you can select for inclusion.
Do you see your device calendars in this view? If so, do they have a checkmark next to them? They must have a checkmark next to them to be included in that particular LifeTopix calendar view.

Hi,
I’m currently trying to convert an appointment from iCal into LifeTopix to add to an Event but can’t edit the appointment to change it to a LifeTopix appointment as described above. I have checked and my device calendar is accessible in the app.
Thanks,
Anna
LifeTopix Support
Hi Anna,
Thank you for your question.
An item in the device calendar can be converted to a LifeTopix item by simply finding the device calendar item in either the “Agenda” or “My Calendar” year view (Make sure the filter for these views are configured to include your calendar). When you find your iCal item in LifeTopix from one of the views just described, you can simply tap on the more button (green down arrow) located to the right of the item. You will be presented with a number of choices to which you can convert the iCal item to in LifeTopix.
Please let us know if this works for you.
Best regards,
Team LightArrow.
Anna
Thank you, that worked perfectly!

When I have an “all day event” in my device calendar it blocks the whole day in the lifetopix calendar. Isn’t there a setting to ensure that it only shows up as an “all day event reminder” at the top of the daily view of the lifetopix calendar (as it does on my device calendar)?
LightArrow
Hi Eric,
Thanks for reaching out with the question.
We do plan to add “all day events” into LifeTopix in the near future, so that they do not go across entire days the way it does now.
We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.

Has this all day issue been fixed in the calendar ?
I like the possibilities of this app but this functional limitation makes it largely useless for me. If its not fixed, then I’ll look forward to checking it out down the line once it is.
LightArrow
Hi Mike,
In 5.2, we improved the support for all day entries from the device calendar to not block out giant spaces in the LifeTopix calendar views — these now show at the top int the Day, Week and Month views. However, we still have to support LifeTopix items (tasks, trips, projects, events) in an all day mode. We plan to do that in the next update.
You also asked “Has the all day issue over-riding anything else on the same day been resolved yet?” This too will be fixed int he next update (place them properly so they don’t hide each other).
We apologize that we did not get all these fixes in 5.2.
Best regards,

Dear users,
There is a glitch in 5.0.2 that we plan to fix in the next update. If your Default Device Calendar setting in LifeTopix is set to “Calendar”, and you are not seeing an entry being made in the device calendar when you create a date-relevant item in LifeTopix, please change your Default Device Calendar to another calendar (for example, the “Work” calendar). You can do this in LifeTopix Settings > My Settings.

Hi there! I am just starting to learn this product and I think it has some great potential for use in organising my life! In this section, it’s mentioned that “if you make any changes to the reminders for those items directly in your device’s Calendar, those changes will not be reflected back in LifeTopix.” But I was wondering if I were to change (for example delete) a date-related item in LifeTopix, is it suppose to reflect on my device’s calendar? I have done so with some items and it has not reflected on my calendar, just wanted to double check if this was the case.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Vincent
LightArrow
Hello Vincent,
We actually made an update so that in the current release, the device calendar date changes (for entries made by LifeTopix) to propagate back to LifeTopix.
Also, if you delete an item in LifeTopix, it’s corresponding entry in the device calendar should be deleted. If that is not working for you, please let us know for which specific item type you’ve seen this defect, and we’ll fix it in a update in the near future.
Best regards,

Hi there!
Thank you for the information.
I tried it again and it seems to work well now! Not sure if the previous time I tried it was before the update or what. I’m excited to experiment with it now as I was previously nervous about it leaving stuff on my calendar and getting all messy! Sorry to have wasted your time. If anything comes up I will post here again!
Thank you!
Vincent

The latest 5 version has some really nice user interface design. Thanks for the update. One thing that I noticed in the new version is my new tasks, or appointments no longer show up automatically in my iCalendar. They used to with the [LifeTopix] label next to them. In this latest release, new tasks, and appointments do not move over to ICal. My iCalendar created events do show up in LifeTopix. If I delete an iCalendar item from the LifeTopix view, it actually deletes it in iCalendar. Not sure why some sync works, but not all of it. I have all calendars enabled in LifeTopix so it should not be a filter issue.
Thanks again for a GREAT product.….
LightArrow
Thank you, PJ! The settings for creating device calendar entries are under Settings > My Settings (accessible from the gear icon from the bottom left Quick Menu). Could you please double-check your values in there for two things: 1. Default Device Calendar, and 2. Device Calendar Reminders? In the second one, the individual settings can be done by item type.
We hope that helps.

When are you going to establish an online web portal to enter information? How hard can it be once you’ve designed the apps?
LightArrow
Hi Rob,
We appreciate your point. It’s not a matter of easy or hard, but priorities. We have so far focused on the app itself, and additional effort on easier data entry from a Mac via our free LifeTopix AirAccess app. We are looking at other ways of making data entry easier in our upcoming updates. We do not have an online platform for the app — that is a significant endeavor, and we have taken the approach of the user getting more value from their existing online services such as Dropbox, Evernote, Google, Toodledo by integrating tose into LifeTopix, instead of introducing yet another online service for the users. We will continue to make data entry easier (even the ability to use a browser) without requiring an online offering from us.

Is it possible to see Events that are in my iCal as Events and Appointments in LifeTopix. Or to tag them as Events and Appointments without having to re-create those Appointments or Events in Lifetopix?
LightArrow
Hi Yohance,
Thanks for reaching out. Device calendar events are visible in LifeTopix’s My Calendar — they are visible by default, and can be configured by the filter in My Calendar as to which device calendars you wish to include. Device calendar items are shown together with tasks, trips, projects and all other LifeTopix date-relevant items selected int he filter to show in My Calendar.
In Our 5.0 update (available in early August), you can tap and hold on device calendar items visible in My Calendar to easily create trips, events, tasks etc. in LifeTopix. In 5.0, in the Events topic, under the Appointments view, device calendar entries are also displayed along with LifeTopix appointments if the My Calendar filter is set to include device calendar items.
We hope that answers your questions.
Best regards,
Team LightArrow

Thank you for your quick reply.
I’m happy to hear of the news of the upcomign 4.1 release, as it does sound like it includes updates that will add the function I was hoping for. This app is very impressive, and it looks like it just keeps getting better. So, thank you.…

Thanks so much for your kind words Sheridan!
We have many more exciting items on our roadmap, and we’re busy working on release 4.2 already.
We’re grateful to all our users for the continued support and contribution of thoughts and ideas on LifeTopix.

Another quick question: is there a way to convert my existing iOS calendar entries to Lifetopix entries? I know they “show up” in Lifetopix, but they don’t seem to be “editable.” I’m interested in doing this, as the iOS calendar integration with email, etc., is very convenient. I’d rather not have to enter things again in Lifetopix, but rather would like to be able to add all the great features of Lifetopix to those events. In otherwords, if I can convert iOS events to Lifetopix entries, that would be a great help.
Hope this makes sense.
Thank you for your time.…
LifeTopix Support
Hi Sheridan,
In 4.1, we have added the ability to:
1) “go” to a LifeTopix entry directly from your device Calendar so you can edit it
2) view and edit device Calendar entries directly from the LifeTopix My Calendar.
We believe item #2 gives you what you are looking for — please correct us if we’re wrong.
We just submitted release 4.1 to Apple for review, so that should be available to you as a free update through the App Store very soon.
Best regards,
Team LightArrow.

Is the calendar integration only one way? I.e. I don’t see any of my existing appointments created in device calendar in my app calendar…
LifeTopix Support
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your question.
It is a filter option. In My Calendar, if you open the filter (bottom right) you can set “Include Device Calendar” to Yes. Then they will appear along with all LifeTopix date relevant items. The caveat is currently you cannot edit them from this view, but it is extremely useful to be able to see them in the mix with everything else.
Best regards,
