Q. How can I give LifeTopix access to Contacts, Calendars and Reminders after initially not allowing it?

You can go to the device Settings app, go to Privacy, and in the Contacts and Calendars sections, set LifeTopix to On in each one. That allows LifeTopix to include your device calendars and contacts information for various items and views. Starting with 5.1, LifeTopix also allows for utilizing and integrating with the device Reminders app.

I have set up a dropbox sync with my ipad and iphone everything works except that making changes on the iphone doesnt update the dropbox sync account and is not reflected on the ipad; it works from ipad to iphone almost simultaneously I have tried a sync reset but no luck — any advice would be welcome

      Hi Ian,
Thanks for reaching out! When you make a change on the phone (like add a task), you’ll see a green rotating sync indicator on the top left of the dashboard views. Please wait for that to be done before closing LifeTopix on the iPhone — that gives a chance for the changes to be uploaded to Dropbox (then it’s available on the other devices). That process does not work when the app is closed (in the background).
Please let us know if that works. If not, we’ll work with you to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the prompt reply — i was aware that the green rotating indicator was when the device was syncing and indeed it happens, the app is running and is in the foreground but still no syncing when i make changes or additions on the iphone.

This also led me to think if i make a change say to a task description on the iphone and save it we will have 3 instances of that task over the 3 devices, i.e. one new one on the iphone an old one on the cloud and an old one on the primary device the ipad — which sync gets priority?

        Regards

        Ian

          Hi Ian,

Thanks for getting back to us with the info. We can follow up with you over a phone call to get this resolved. Please email us at support (@) lightarrow (dot) com and suggest some times that work for you on Thursday and Friday. It’ll take about 15–20 minutes, and you should have both devices (and internet connectivity from both) available to you at the time of the call.

Regarding your other question — the change that gets priority is the most recent one (we tag changes with UTC time code down to the millisecond). So the phone change will apply to the task ont he iPad (change file transfered via Dropbox within devices) — once we get it working properly for you, of course. For now, please try to make most of your changes on the iPad if possible.

          Best,

I do not see Privacy in the Settings app. I feel certain that it is there and that I’ve seen it before, but I’m not seeing it now. This is on an iPad1 v5.1.1.

      Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out to us. In iOS 6.0 you can go to the iOS settings –> Privacy. From here tapping any of the items such as Location Services, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. allows you to grant access to LifeTopix.

      Best regards,

    Hi there,
I am trying set up access for Lifetopix to access my contacts. I see the answer above but I am still having issues. I believe to access settings the gear type icon must be pressed. Once done I do not see any section titled privacy nor contacts and settings. I tried preferences but that is not where I need to be. Please advise.
    Thanks
    Julie

      Hi Julie,
Our apologies for not being clear — you need to use the device’s Settings app to re-enable access to Contacts, not the Settings view of LifeTopix. If you open the Settings app on your device, then go to Privacy, you can go into Contacts, and turn it ON for LifeTopix. You can do the same for Calendars, Reminders, Location Services, etc. as you wish. This is the standard way for enabling or disabling access for apps on Apple devices.
      Best regards,
