Q. How do I change the status of a task?

Every task has a status which can be determined by its icon. The task statuses are: Not Started, In Progress, Completed, On Hold, and Canceled.

To change the status of a task, tap the icon for the task, then select the new status. Tasks can be accessed from Task List and Task Calendar under Tasks + Projects, or from My Calendar. Tasks that have been associated with topic objects can also be accessed directly from the detail view for those topic objects.

Hw do I get rid of The completed tasks? I don’t want to delete/swipen every Single task. Even better that completed tasks can be archived (out of my view but still available in Search).

Second, I would like to also filter tasks by several subjects like Priority, Category, Project Association.
You mentioned a Major Business related Release. Can you give us a hint what will be included?
    Thanks.

      Hi Robert,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions.

From any calendar view you can edit the filter settings so that completed items (including completed tasks) will not be shown. It is in our plans to support archiving of items such as tasks, projects, checklists, etc. We hope to have this available in an update soon.

We have been working on a new view where information can be grouped by many different properties depending on the item type. For example currently you can group notes by “Show All”, “Category”, “Notebook”, “Context Tag”, “Date Tag” & “Last Updated”. In our next update, LifeTopix 8.0, we will apply this to other types as well (such as tasks and projects).

We are working on some “Pro Tasks” features such as hierarchy, dependencies, etc. that’ll be available as an in-app purchase in LifeTopix, as well as a separate app, most likely in late October.

      Best Regards,

Does my data in LifeTopix back up when I backup/sync my iPhone, or do I need to back it up separately?

      Hi Karen,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

We recommend that you backup your data using LifeTopix’s online backup. If you have sync enabled (we recommend Dropbox) then backups are done incrementally as you use the app. We also recommend that you do periodic email backups as well. This makes restores easier if needed.

So far, so good; but today I’m feeling pretty stupid. How do you do a search (in calendar, etc.) and how you copy and paste something from one date (eg. an address) to another? I’m sure it’s obvious, but I just can’t find it.

      Hi Karen,
Thanks for reaching out with the questions.
The Search view (magnifying glass accessible from the Quick Menu on bottom left) looks across almost all items in LifeTopix. Some other views have built in searches as well, but not the My Calendar view.
Currently, we don’t have a way to copy and paste an item to move dates — you have to open it and change its date fields. We are working on supporting drag and drop as well as copy and paste to move items.
      Best regards,

Is it possible to add recurring tasks without times and then manually arrange them into the order in which you want to complete them?

      Hi Karen,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

Currently our repeat schedule depends on time to determine the schedule. Would you mind giving us an example of how you would like the repeat schedule to work without time being used?

For example: today I want to clean the house, brush the dog, do exercises in the morning and evening and water the outdoor plants. Although I don’t want to set a specific time (or receive an alert), I want to brush the dog in the morning, clean house in the afternoon and water the plants in the evening, as well as do exercises twice during the day (morning and evening).

        Thanks for your help.

          Hi Karen,

The product supports “to do” lists which allow you keep track of things you need to do without requiring you to set a time. You can order the items in chronological order by dragging and dropping and the “Home” view in the dashboard has the top section dedicated to your to do lists so they are easily accessible. Once you have completed (checked off) all the items in the to do list you easily reuse the list by tapping the “Clear” button just above the list.

Currently you can create weekly or daily to do lists where you can clear the list manually at the beginning of the next day or week. In the future we will automate this process.

          Best Regards,

I still am not able to drag tasks to reorder them. Also, how do you permanently delete a task from a list?

              Jul 15, 2013

              Hi Karen,

Tasks cannot be reordered at this time. You can create a checklist (to do list) and add checklist items to the list where each checklist item is something you want to get done. As you complete the items in the checklist you can simply check them off. Using the checklist you will be able to reorder the checklist items in the list by dragging and dropping them.

              Best Regards,

                  Jul 15, 2013

                  Hi Karen,

To reorder items in a checklist you can tap the “Reorder” button located just above the items in the checklist detail view. You can then grab an item by tap and holding the icon to the right of the cell (icon with three horizontal bars) and dragging the item up or down. When you are done ordering you can tap the “Done” button.

You can find an example of using a checklist in My.Agenda (also applicable to LifeTopix) at: http://lightarrow.com/manage-your-to-dos-and-checklists-like-a-pro-in-my-agenda

I am slowly learning to use LifeTopix and like it a lot. I keep having questions, though; how can I disable audible alarms for tasks and appointments?

      Hi Karen,

Thanks for reaching out! We do plan to add the ability to configure (turn off or on) the automatic creation of local notifications that fire at the due date/time of a task, bill, appointment start, etc. We also create a device calendar entry with reminder for each date relevant item, and THAT you can configure (including turn off by type) in the My Settings view under the app’s Settings.

      We hope this helps!

      Best regards,

Thanks, I think that did it (I hadn’t even noticed the “settings” icon because it was hidden below the screen). Next question: is it necessary to set an end date to tasks that you do every day? Something like “no end” or “indefinitely”? Thanks again.

          Jul 10, 2013

          Hi Karen,
We do limit the max number (increased to 150 in the latest release). In the next update, we have added the ability to create recurring tasks in “Dynamic” mode, so the next instance is created only when the current one is closed or canceled. That does allow us to make the end date irrelevant, so we’ll figure out a way to support that soon.
          Best regards,
          Team LightArrow

How can I change the time stamp when adding a reminder? And do reminders have a notification function to remind when a task is due?

    • LifeTopix Support
      Dec 11, 2011

      Hi Chris,

When you are creating a reminder, tap in the Time cell to bring up the date picker. Using this, you can set the date and time of the reminder.

An entry gets added to your device Calendar when you create a new reminder in LifeTopix. This entry has an alert configured for the day and time of the reminder.

Please let us know if this has not answered your question, or if you need further clarification.

      Best regards,
      Team LightArrow.

You can swipe on a reminder you are done with in order to remove it.

I just tried that and it isn’t working. There isn’t a button to mark it as “done”?

              Sep 26, 2012

              Hi Kristine,
The swipe delete works from the Reminders view within the Events topic. You are probably trying that from the Home view — we’ll add swipe delete to that in the future. For now, if you tap on the reminder, it’s detail view has a trash icon on the bottom right to delete it.
              Best regards,
              Team LightArrow
