Q. What are the known issues with LifeTopix, My.Agenda, My.Notes, Pro.Notes, My.Shopping and Air.Access?

Release 8.0.2 of Life­Topix (avail­able March 31) has the fol­low­ing reported issues to be fixed soon:

  • No major defects. Usabil­ity issues will be fixed in 8.1.

Release 3.0.1 of My.Agenda (avail­able March 31)  has the fol­low­ing reported issues to be fixed soon:

  • No major defects. Usabil­ity issues will be fixed in 3.1.

Release 1.0.65 of My.Shopping (avail­able Dec 9)  has the fol­low­ing reported issues to be fixed soon:

    My shop­ping items do not appear on the “near me” selec­tion. the map appears with a 5 mile radius, but no items

      Thank you for reach­ing out to us.

      The “Near Me” map view shows the shop­ping items if the seller for that shop­ping item has a valid loca­tion.
      Can you please ver­ify if the shop­ping items you are look­ing for have a Seller with an appro­pri­ate location?

      Assum­ing that you have the lat­est ver­sion of our Life­Topix or My.Agenda App, can you check the fol­low­ing?
      1. Set the Seller loca­tion using these steps: Shop­ping Item List View (with expanded rows) –> “…” (More) but­ton –> Seller Details –> Loca­tion Tile
      2. In the Near Me view, tap on “My Items” –> “My Items” –> Ensure that “Shop­ping Item” is selected.

    ¡Hola!

    So I’m using My Agenda and have been hav­ing issues with the notes. When I want to cat­e­go­rize my notes by note­book, the selec­tion wheel has trou­ble select­ing! I’ve only seen this issue with my iPad, not my iphone. I’m hop­ing this bug is a sim­ple fix for a future update; speak­ing of update, how is the My Agenda 3 update com­ing along? Can’t wait to play with it!! Thanks for great cus­tomer ser­vice and fine prod­uct tun­ing :)

    I’ve recently synced life topix via sky­dive on my ipad but not gone as far as con­nect­ing my iPhone too. Since I’ve done this the app keeps quit­ting and is unre­li­able. Any help would be appraciated

Please make sure to have a Drop­box account (if you already don’t), and have the Drop­box app on both your devices before the call.

    Hi. I am a becom­ing Life­Topix con­vert. One fea­ture is hold­ing me back.

    As far as I can tell, the app has a default cal­en­dar set­ting. Once a cal­en­dar item is cre­ated, e.g., events and tasks, it is pub­lished to that cal­en­dar. For those of us that use and jug­gle mul­ti­ple shared cal­en­dars, say work@gmail.com and family@gmail.com, it would be nice to have the option to select/modify which cal­en­dar a cal­en­dar item goes to. Is it pos­si­ble to cre­ate a Life­Topix cal­en­dar item that is only local and not pub­lished to a calendar?

    Is this pos­si­ble in Life­Topix? If not, could these fea­tures could be added?

      Thanks for reach­ing out with the fea­ture enquiry. Here’s the good news — with the 8.0 update (being reviewed by Apple, hope­fully approved and avail­able this com­ing week), we have added the abil­ity to select the cal­en­dar by item. For exam­ple task A can go to Work cal­en­dar, whereas task B and trip T1 can be in the Home cal­en­dar, or some shared one. By default, they go by what the “default” set­ting is, how­ever, you can over­ride at indi­vid­ual item level.

    Hello! I just got your app two days ago. It was doing amaz­ing. I need it to sync with my icloud, and that seems to be going OK. How­ever, today, I added a bunch of tasks on my ipad.… reminders. It did not push them to the phone. Is this nor­mal? Do the tasks or reminders not sync up on both devices or is this a sync issue?

      When using cloud sync in our app we highly rec­om­mend using Drop­box as it has been shown to sync the fastest in our tests.

    I too love the app. I am a new user. I entered a new appoint­ment using full entry. I entered the time as 1:00 pm.with an end time of 3:00. When I check the entry on my cal­en­dar it shows the time as 11:00 am. I have re-entered sev­eral times after delet­ing how­ever same thing hap­pens. Help! Thanks.

    I just started using MyA­genda, also pur­chased the abil­ity to sync between devices. How­ever, in spite of fol­low­ing direc­tions to enable sync, I can­not get this to hap­pen. I have an IPhone 4, an IPad, and just pur­chased an IPad mini. I would like to sync between all 3 devices.

    I’m in the process of set­ting up and sync­ing this app with my devices. Some­how, parts of my cal­en­dars are not sync­ing with both devices? I’m won­der­ing if it has to do with where the entries orig­i­nated from but I haven’t been able to fix the issue. Is any­one else aware of this issue?

      Our app relies on the iOS Cal­en­dar app to man­age cal­en­dar sync­ing between iOS devices and we sim­ply work with the iOS Cal­en­dar app to access its items.
      Would you mind ver­i­fy­ing that your cal­en­dar items are suc­cess­fully sync­ing between your iOS devices by check­ing your iOS Cal­en­dar app on both your devices?

      The cal­en­dar views in our app have fil­ters where you can set which cal­en­dars to include. Would you mind going to the “My Cal­en­dar” view (acces­si­ble from the dash­board view) and tap on the fil­ter icon located at the top right of the screen just below the + but­ton. In the fil­ter view you will see all the cal­en­dars you have included in your iOS Cal­en­dar app. Make sure that the cal­en­dar you want includ­ing in our app has a check­mark next to it.

        I sent an email with regards to hav­ing the same issue. It brought over the cal­en­dar events for the first time but does not update new events. I checked all set­tings and fil­ters. I even turned it off and on to test but no luck. My IOS cal­en­dar is up-to-date.

    Hi guys, a prob­lem which I am pretty sure I didnt have before is when I am look­ing in my notes then switch to another appli­ca­tion (dou­bleclick­ing home but­ton) then go back to Life­Topix its takes me auto­mat­i­cally back to the home screen. I know it usu­ally does this after a period of time, but this is like after about less than a minute. Any ideas?

      Thank you for point­ing this out to us. There is a option in “Settings”–>“My Settings”–>“Default Dash­board View” that will allow you to set which dash­board view to show when start­ing the app. This is only applic­a­ble for when the app starts (not when switch­ing between apps). We will look into this issue and may need to ask more ques­tions, if you don’t mind, if we can not repro­duce this problem.

    Life­Topix is a great app, really cov­ers a lot in both per­sonal and busi­ness. One real bug bear is that when you send emails from it the Life­Topix app logo is imbed­ded large and bold into the body of the email. I realise you want to pro­mote the app but it looks a it unpro­fes­sional from a busi­ness sense when a con­tact receives this. I am eager to use just one app as my cen­tral pivot point for all my activ­ity, both work & per­sonal but this logo issue is a hin­der­ance to do so.

    Hi,
    I really love this app! How­ever every­time I open it on my iphone 5 the app freezes and some­times it will freeze my entire phone. I have tried shut­ting the phone com­pletely off and restart­ing it and it does the same thing… As much as I love this app, if I can not use it on my phone it is use­less to me…
    (I did put in a com­ment about the sync of the cloud which I did resolve but I am unable to access the help in the app to reply)

      Yes we are. Cur­rently Apple is review­ing a patch (7.0.6) which has some other fixes. We hope Apple will approve it around tomor­row, and as soon as that hap­pens, we’ll sub­mit the 7.0.7 patch with the iOS 5.1.1 related fixes. We are SO SORRY that we got a lit­tle care­less and caused the issue with iOS 5.1.1 while mak­ing sig­nif­i­cant changes for the app to work with iOS 7. We already have the fixes tested, and we hope the new patch will be avail­able next week.
      Our sin­cere apolo­gies to all iOS 5.1.1 based loyal users of Life­Topix! We’ll be more care­ful in the future.

      A cou­ple of com­mon causes of not being able to add a Face­book id to a con­tact are:

      1.) Face­book has not been setup on the iOS device. Go to “Set­tings” –> “Face­book” to con­firm you have setup Face­book on your iOS device.
      2.) The user you are try­ing to add must be a friend on Facebook.

      In the device Cal­en­dar app each cal­en­dar is given a color. In our app wher­ever a device cal­en­dar item is dis­played we use a dot with that color (over­laid on the icon) to indi­cate which cal­en­dar the item came from. Are you not see­ing this or are you refer­ring to some­thing else?

    Every time I try to add a task or project and hit save it closes the app & I have to reopen it & the ask is gone. I’ve gone back & entered the same task about 5 times & it keeps doing the same thing. Help!

      2. What is your iOS ver­sion and, and is this the iPad or the iPhone?
      3. Can you tell us the steps (which view) you are using for adding the task?

    when I click add a task or appt a quick appt box appears. I type the info and the box doesnt dis­ap­pear. I cant click off it or close it. I have to delete app and rein­stall. When I repeat steps the same thing hap­pens. I cant use app because of this. Fix suggestions?

      Thanks for reach­ing out. We are sorry to hear that, but we have no con­trol over the update download/install process from the app store / iTunes servers. It does hap­pen rarely (regard­less of what the app is), and when users try again (some­times after reboot­ing the device), the apps update cor­rectly, some­times in a day or so. If that does not work for you, please let us know and we’ll work with you to get your data out of it, in case you need to do rein­stall.

      There was a change from the Drop­box side (as of a few weeks ago), which makes our back­ups fail right now in some cases, and we have already fixed it in our 2.0 update which is now avail­able on the App Store.     I only see a about 40 notes in the LT Ever­note online notes sec­tion. I have hun­dreds of notes in Ever­note that do not appear in LT, so I can­not select and or sync those notes.

      For each note­book, we cur­rently get the first 100 notes. We can change that, but that should not cause only 40 to show up. So for us to bet­ter under­stand the prob­lem, can you tell us if you see all your note­books at the first level? And then after that, is there a par­tic­u­lar note­book that is only show­ing 40 notes instead of 100?

        I was esti­mat­ing 40, but per­haps I am get­ting 100 notes. My prob­lem is I have 212 notes in that Ever­note note­book, and the ones I want to sync are not show­ing in LT. Is the 100 note limit user con­fig­urable (I did not see it in setup)?

          Hi Danny,
          Cur­rently, we set it to a limit of 100 based on our assess­ment with users on how many notes typ­i­cally are man­aged per note­book, since the resources avail­able to apps are fairly con­strained on iOS devices. How­ever, you and oth­ers do have more than that per note­book, so we have been work­ing on improv­ing the expe­ri­ence. In our next update (7.0, next week), we are adding the abil­ity to set the num­ber (100,200,300,400,500) and also, in updates after that, we plan to sup­port pag­i­na­tion and search. We can­not ask users to rearrange their notes and note­books to sup­port our model, how­ever, some users did that as part of a gen­eral orga­ni­za­tion of their note­books, and were able to over­come this lim­i­ta­tion in the mean­time.

      If you are logged in as the same iTunes user on the iPhone, you can go to My.Agenda Set­tings view, go to In App Pur­chases, and tap on Restore All Pur­chases at the top. That should restore all the ones you already bought from the iPad. Please let us know if you need any assis­tance.

    I have repeat­ing reminders in the apple Reminders app. But when import­ing into Life­topix the date shown is the first of the repeat­ing dates (I.e., months ago) rather than the next date that the reminder is to come up. That doesn’t help me! Any chance you already know about this prob­lem and

        I have 3 reminders in the Apple Reminders app that are repeat­ing. One of them, for exam­ple, is “Pick up Olivia and Lyra (Fri)” with a date of “1/18/13 12:15 pm, Weekly” [end repeat=never] and it is in the Reminders folder, not the com­pleted folder. In Life­Topix it shows up in the Over­due Items alert folder with a date of 1/18/13, and does NOT show up in the Next 7 days list.

          Our under­stand­ing of the way repeat reminders in the Reminders App works is that a the next instance of the reminder will not be cre­ated until the pre­vi­ous one is marked com­pleted. Do you mind mark­ing the older ones in the Reminders App com­pleted and see if more recent ones shows up in LifeTopix?

            I did get this to work. It wasn’t suf­fi­cient to sim­ply mark the past event as com­pleted (i.e., by check­ing the box next to it). If I just did that, noth­ing changed. But when I backed out of the Reminders folder using the list icon in the upper left of that appli­ca­tion, and then again selected the Reminders folder, then the date of the event was updated from last Jan­u­ary to the next occur­ring date in the future (i.e., this com­ing Fri­day) and then the event did appear in Life­Topix. So you are cor­rect about the Reminders app. That app always worked for me because even though the date shown was never updated, it always gave me an audi­ble noti­fi­ca­tion at the next occur­rence of the event with­out ever hav­ing to open the Reminders app itself. So now, to make its events show in Life­Topix, I will have to remem­ber to open Reminders and check “com­pleted” instances. I see this as a bug in Reminders [it cer­tainly doesn’t make it seam­less to use!], and I sup­pose I should report it to Apple. Thanks for help­ing me get this to work in LifeTopix.

I am an Adjunct col­lege instruc­tor for both tra­di­tional and dis­tance learn­ing class­rooms. I design Dis­tance Learn­ing cur­ricu­lum. I am a youth choir direc­tor. I am a pub­lished author and musi­cian. I am a per­former, writer and a direc­tor. I vol­un­teer for sev­eral orga­ni­za­tions and churches because I say yes to every­thing too. I don’t get paid any­where near the national aver­age for any of these activ­i­ties, and orga­niz­ing them seam­lessly into some­thing under­stand­able is almost impos­si­ble. Most “orga­niz­ers” in app form make me want to run scream­ing from the room, even though I am in love with my iPad. These apps are more con­fus­ing than the jum­bled lists in my head.

    Here is my heart-felt request.

    Please do not get me addicted to this won­der­ful app, and then, once all the bugs are knocked out and you have made it not only good, but exquis­ite, tack a crazy monthly or yearly fee onto con­tin­ued access that only a thriv­ing busi­ness can seri­ously con­sider. I have been look­ing and look­ing for an app like this. If that is your plan, please hire me now. Seriously.

    I have been a LT user for over a year. I really like the con­cept of all-in-one access to my projects and plans. The Drop Box sync works as long as you remem­ber to do it EACH time you load info into the app on each of your devices (oth­er­wise your cur­rent data would be replaced by what­ever last synced to Drop­box). The iCloud sync has been an issue since the begin­ning and its a BIG DEAL for some of us with mul­ti­ple devices. I appre­ci­ate your offer to assist me over the phone but I’m just frus­trated with it and ask that you move reli­able sync­ing to the top of your roadmap. Auto sync­ing with Drop­box may be an answer or your cloud sync ser­vice. It takes way too much time and effort to setup a pro­duc­tiv­ity sys­tem in LT to have to worry about syncing.

      Hi Betty,
      Thank you for reach­ing out. We could not agree more, and reli­able sync is on the top of our agenda. We were mak­ing great strides in improv­ing iCloud Sync, but things got a lot worse for us after iOS 6.1 came out. We are work­ing with Apple to resolve sev­eral issues that affect reli­a­bil­ity, and cur­rently we can­not rec­om­mend our iCloud Sync to our users. Our Drop­box sync is man­ual, but is very reli­able. We are work­ing now on mak­ing Drop­box sync more seam­less and auto­mated, start­ing with improve­ments in our 6.0 update next month on that path. Also, We are not giv­ing up on iCloud either. Our app, due to its fairly com­plex data com­pared to sim­ple list apps, has to depend on the tech­nol­ogy we sup­port being robust and reli­able. We are not alone in this issue.
      We truly appre­ci­ate your patience — we work very, very hard every day, and will con­tinue to do so, mak­ing faster sync a top agenda.

    I love what Life­topix rep­re­sents and is try­ing to achieve how­ever I am find­ing that it is very slow on my iphone 4. There are sig­nif­i­cant lag time between touch­ing a but­ton and the exe­cu­tion of the com­mand. I have made sure no other apps are run­ning in the back­ground and done hard reboots of the sys­tem to no avail.

    This phe­nom. is most pro­nounced with life­topix and I’d like to know if there is a set­ting or other adjust­ment I can make to ale­vi­ate this.

      Hi Ray, you are right — Life­Topix is not at all snappy on the iPhone 4. We have been mak­ing improve­ments over the updates, but have a much more to do. In the 5.2 update that is planned to be sub­mit­ted to Apple next week, we have made sig­nif­i­cant speed improve­ments in the My Cal­en­dar and other date rel­e­vant views. Do you mind shar­ing with us some par­tic­u­lar views (other than the cal­en­dar and date-relevant views) where you see the most lag with your data? We promise to do our best to make fur­ther speed improve­ments.

    Hi. I’ve been using the multi-log for mul­ti­ple activ­i­ties. With one of my activ­i­ties (fam­ily time), I’ve made two entry so far for Jan­u­ary 3 and Jan­u­ary 5. How­ever, when plot out the activ­i­ties on a graph, it is show­ing my fam­ily time activ­ity for a date of Jan­u­ary 31, 2013. Not sure if it is a bug or some­thing I did wrong.

      Hi Bryan,

      Thank you for your question.

      By default the “Fam­ily Time” log item is set to dis­play as a monthly total. If you wish to see this log item as a daily total or weekly total (which ever makes more sense to you) sim­ply go to the detail view for “Fam­ily Time” and set it to show as “Daily Total”, for example.

      To get to the detail view for the “Fam­ily Time” log item tap on “Activ­ity Log” acces­si­ble from “Health + Activ­i­ties”. Then tap the more but­ton (green tri­an­gle) for the “Fam­ily Time” entry. You will be pre­sented with a few options one of which is “Details”. Tap on “Details” and you will be pre­sented with the details view for “Fam­ily Time”. Finally tap the “Show” field to set the desired value.

    I want to thank you all for the lat­est update. I had tried every­thing prior to that but was unable to use LT after the iOS 6 update. It just kept load­ing until it timed out and the pro­gram closed. It’s won­der­ful to have every­thing back into one app!! Thanks again!!!
