OK, WHAT CATEGORY IS AN APPOINTMENT — event, project, what. Can’t seem to break your code on this.

      Hi Jack,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you are referring to LifeTopix Categories, Appointments do not have categories. Categories are applicable to LifeTopix items like Projects, Events, Assets, etc.

If you are referring to the types in the search view, appointments can be found under ‘Data Items’ section in the Search view (scroll-down to see Appointments under ‘Data Items’ section).

We would be happy to assist you over the phone tomorrow during Office hours, if you would like. Please let us know.

      Apr 09, 2014

      Hi Jack,

Thank you for reaching out to support.

In the Agenda & Calendar views, you can view the past Appointments (and other past items) by checking “Include Closed Items” in the filter (‘funnel icon’ at the top-right corner in those views).

Also, all LifeTopix items that are past the due date, including Appointments are retained in the App unless they are deleted.
They are searchable via Search –> (Select item type) and optionally enter the name of the item (Appointment).

Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.

What is face time. Is it part of your apt
It showed up with one of my contacts
    Don’t know why????

Hi K.B — thanks for reaching out. We are not exactly sure what you meant. FaceTime is an Apple app for communication. When you open an iOS contact directly or from any other app, Apple gives you the option to either call them, text them, email them or FaceTime with them, depending on what contact info is available. It is not something to do with our app.

I have been using the calendar with the tasks and the appointments etc. I love this app. It has helped me to get so organized. However, I just went back to a couple of weeks ago to see what day something was accomplished, and it was gone. Only last weeks task list was still there. What happened? How can I keep this information? I use this like my old dayplanner and I need the abilitiy to research and review projects etc. Please help!

      Hi Eileen,

Thank you for reaching out to with your question.

Would you mind checking in the filter view for “My Calendar” and verify that the entry for “Include Closed Items” is checked for inclusion?
The filter view is accessible from “My Calendar” by tapping on the filter icon located near the top right of the screen. It is the square icon with lines in it.
Once in the filter view you will notice the first entry is “Include Closed Items”. If you tap on the box to the left of it you should notice it becomes checked. Checking this item will allow the “My Calendar” view to display items that are closed (in the case of task this includes canceled and completed ones).

This same process should be done in the “Agenda” view as well if you wish to see your closed items there.

We are making this the default behavior in our next update.

      Best Regards,
      Team LightArrow

Is there a way to link or attach a photo and other media to an appointment? I take pictures of appointment cards, receipts, references and use them to confirm dates and as notes instead of entering relative information. If so, it would be amazingly awesome! I uploaded a few pics but don’t see or understand how to accomplish my objective. Thanks.

    • Team LightArrow
      Mar 03, 2014

      Hi Shereen,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Currently items such as photos, video & audio cannot be attached to appointments. In a future update we will be combining appointment & events (and adding a new meeting item) into one item that will allow you to attach items to them as well as set repeat schedules.

In the mean time you could use a note to contain the media items and then associate the appointment to the note. To associate an existing appointment to a note simply go to “My Topic” –> “Events” and tap on “Events, Appointments and Reminders”. Select “Year” at the top of the screen to view the items by year. Find your appointment and tap on the circle button with green dots located to the far right of the item. This will present you with options for the item. You can select “Associate” then select “Note” and then select the note you want to associate the reminder with.

Alternatively, you can open the appointment detail and tap on “Add” under the “Association” section in the right side panel. On the iPad the right side panel is always present but on the iPhone you will need to tap on the green arrow button at the bottom right of the screen to expose the right side panel. After tapping “Add” you will select “Note” and then the note you want to associate the appointment with.

Now that you have associated the appointment with the note you can now access any media you wanted attached to the appointment by opening the detail of the appointment and tapping on the item under the “Association” section in the right side panel. This will open the note and you can then see your media items you have attached to the note.

      Hi Pat,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

In our next major update in April (we have a big update coming out in the next few days), we plan to merge Appointments and Events into a single type supporting both the things you mentioned. We are also introducing a third flavor called Meetings. That update will also have improvements in Tasks, Schedules, Reminders and calendar areas.

    • Team LightArrow
      Feb 18, 2014

      Hi Charie,

      Thank you for contacting us.

Apple handles all app purchase through their App Store on behalf of developers such as LightArrow. As they do this, they do not give us any visibility into any of the sales process. Because of this model, we really are not in a position to be able to issue a refund to any purchaser.

It may be possible that Apple’s App Store might be able to issue an individual refund, although we have never investigated this. It may be worthwhile for you to pursue this possibility through the App Store’s customer support channel. Please visit http://www.apple.com/support/itunes for additional help with this matter.

In the interim, we would like to offer our support to you toward the goal of helping you get value out of LifeTopix. If you haven’t already seen it, many users have found our overview and other videos on YouTube to be very helpful. http://lightarrow.com/lifetopix/videos

We also have other resources under our support page. http://lightarrow.com/support

Finally, Apple does provide us with a limited number of promotion codes for each version of our product. We would be happy to offer you a promotion code that would allow you to gift a copy of our product to one of your family members or friends. Please let us know if this would be of any interest to you.

      Best regards,

      Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

Using a shared Google calendar, as you suggested, would be the best way to keep your calendar synced. On your iPhone our app works directly with the iOS Calendar app which keeps all your calendars synced. So anyone using your shared Google calendar will be able to see items you create in our app and you will be able to see (in our app) items others have add to the shared calendar.

      Paul,
We’ve fixed an issue with Evernote in the upcoming 8.0 update. The issue was (probably what you are seeing) is that while syncing, the most recent notes were being ignored and also the number of notes being synced was not enough. We’re sorry about that, and we look forward to getting 8.0 out next week.

How can I integrate LifeTopix with my PC?

    • Team LightArrow
      Feb 04, 2014

      Hi James,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

We have a free app in the Mac App Store called “LifeTopix AirAccess” that allows you to connect to your iOS device and manage the information in LifeTopix and My.Agenda.
We are also working on a Windows 8 version but have put that on hold as we complete the work for our next major update which is targeted for the next couple of weeks. Will resume development work as soon as we ship 8.0. We hope to have the Windows and Mac versions out in the second quarter.

        Feb 04, 2014

        James,
If you add that same Google calendar to your iOS device, it’s items will show up in the app’s Agenda and My Calendar views. Also, in My Settings under our app’s Settings view, you can set that google calendar as the Default Device Calendar — then the app will add a shadow copy of date-oriented items (tasks, appointments, trips — etc.) on that calendar, so you can see them on the PC (the calendar items, not the actual items).

Are there color options in calendar?
Are there highlight, underline, bold, italicize options in notes?

    • LightArrow
      Feb 02, 2014

      Hi John,
Currently, iOS Calendar items show up in their original color in our app’s Agenda and My Calendar views.
In 8.0, topics have colors, and items in topics show up in their topic colors. Also, we support color for context tags in 8.0, so tags show their color when placed next to icons of items.
      8.0 is expected around mid-February.

Trying to make a calendar to send out to family and friends emails so they can sign sign up for different times while taking care of two different sick parents.

      Jan 30, 2014

      Hi Cappey,

Thanks so much for reaching out.

The only way we support shared calendars is via a shared Google calendar. You don’t really need our app for just that portion — if you set up a dedicated shared google calendar with several people (so they all can see it from their iOS Calendar app), you can then each see what the schedule is. When it’s used in conjunction with our app, they get to see those items along with the items in their other (non-shared) calendars, as well as dated items in our app that are not in calendars).

In the future, we plan to support the ability to easily schedule things via a shared calendar.

      Jan 29, 2014

      Hi Tom,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

To create a repeating monthly appointment simply open the detail for the appointment and tap on repeat schedule field. In the schedule detail tap on the “Repeat Every” field and set its value to “1 months”. Next, tap on the “Custom” field to setup the custom settings. In the “Custom Month Schedule” popup make sure that “Specified Days” is checked. Set the “Every” field with the values of “Second” and “Tuesday” and tap the “Set” button. This will dismiss the popup and sets the schedule. Finally tap on the “Save” button of the Schedule detail to save the settings.

    • Team LightArrow
      Jan 20, 2014

      Hi Phyllis.

Our app works directly with iOS Calendar app to manage your calendars. If you have added your Outlook and Yahoo calendars to your iOS device’s Calendar app then those calendars can be accessed in our app as well. Our app relies on the iOS Calendar app to manage syncing between your calendars. After your iOS Calendar app is done syncing the calendars then our app shows the current/updated items in those calendars.

Would you mind making sure you have added your Outlook and Yahoo calendars to your iOS Calendar app?
In our app in the “My Calendar” screen tap on the filter icon (located at the top right of the screen just below the + button) and make sure your Outlook and Yahoo calendars have been checked for inclusion on our app.

    • Team LightArrow
      Jan 13, 2014

      Hi Donna,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

In our next update scheduled to be available at the end of this month (Jan 2014) our app will allow you to assign colors to context tags. These context tags can then be assigned to items in our app and everywhere the item is displayed the colored tag(s) is displayed with it. For example, you can create a context tag called “Work” and give it the color green and then create a task for work and assign the “Work” context tag to that task. Now when that task shows up in our app in a list or in a calendar view you will see the green “Work” tag with it.

      Jan 03, 2014

      Hi Saveri,
Thanks so much for reaching out to us.
Instead of adding it to a project, you can directly create a Daily To Do List from the Agenda view — so that it is always visible in the Agenda view. Currently, we support the ability to clear all the items in the list with one touch, so that you can reuse it every day. In the future (most likely February-March) we’ll add a feature called “Schedules “Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc) so that you can have auto-repeating schedules items (list of tasks, activities, medication, etc.). That feature is eagerly awaited by several users. We are currently wrapping up our major update for January end, and we’ll work on that feature right after that.

      Hi Jamie,
      Thanks for reaching out!
In the My Calendar view, the Year mode shows you all items in a list in chronological order, allowing you to see items in given months. In the Month view, we do plan to add a mode to be able to select the entire month, or select multiple dates — and see all the items in those.

Why is the water tracker measured in cups. NOBODY keeps track of their water intake by cups. It’s measured in 8 oz glasses. Help.

      Jan 01, 2014

      Hi James,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

You can go to “Settings” –> “Manage Categories” –> “Log Entry Units” and tap on the disclosure button for “cups” (button to the right of the item) to view the details. From the details you can tap on the title field (top most field) to rename it to something like “8 oz glasses” and then tap the “Save” button. This way instead of seeing “cups” as the unit for Water you will now see “8 oz glasses”. You can alternatively go to “Settings” –> “Manage Categories” –> “Log Entry Units” and create a new unit for how you would prefer to measure your water intake.

Question about default calendar. If I add something in the calendar, I can’t see how to change which calendar I want. If I set up an appointment in another calendar app, lifetopix allows me to edit that appointment, but I can’t figure out how to edit and change the default calendar in lifetopix. Any help?

      Hi Johnathan,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

To change the default calendar in LifeTopix follow these steps:

1.) From the dashboard view (main screen) in LifeTopix tap on “Settings” (gear icon) from the left navigation panel.
2.) From the “Settings” screen tap on “My Settings“
3.) From the “My Settings” screen scroll towards the bottom and find the “Default Device Calendar” section.
4.) From the “Default Device Calendar” section tap on the “Calendar Title” field.
5.) Now select the default calendar to use for LifeTopix.
6.) Now tap the “Save” button at the top right of the screen to save this setting update.

      Hi Ric,
Yes — we do support iOS 7. Please do a backup (both an Online Backup and an Email Backup) from our Settings view to safeguard your data before you upgrade to iOS 7, as for some users, the iOS 7 upgrade has caused them to have to reinstall all apps (unrelated to our app). Just to be safe, we highly recommend that you do regular backups of your data from within our Settings view, and not rely on the iCloud backups as that does not backup our app’s data.
Please let us know if you need anything else.

Do you know if SmartPad is able to export it’s information in CVS format? LifeTopix imports some data via CSV, so if SmartPad supports CSV export we can look into it.

        1) Can the 12 topics be customized? E.g I don’t need de topic “health” and want to create another?

          Hi Christian,

          1. As far as topic customization goes, currently you can reorder, them and hide the ones you do not wish to initially use. You can customize categories under topics, but not create new topics yet. Can you give us an example of something you’d want?
          2. Yes — all date relevant items are also automatically entered into the iOS Calendar — this is customizable, you can choose the calendar you wish to write to as well as the setting for the alert reminder by type.

      Dec 01, 2013

      Hi Lee,

Our app supports repeat schedules for tasks, appointments & bills. You could create an appointment and tap then blue button labeled “Create and Add More Data” (if the appointment is already crated this button will not be present) then tap on the field with the text “Not set to repeat”. This will present you with the repeat schedule detail screen. Select the date you want this repeat schedule to start on and then tap on the “Repeat Every” field and select “1 months”. Next tap on the “Custom” field which will show a popup for this setting. Tap on “Specified Days” to check it. Next tap on the first box in the “Every” field and a popup will be shown. Select the value you want (i.e. Third or Fourth). Next select the day by tapping on the second box and selecting “Wednesday” form the list. Make sure to tap the “Set” button. You can now specify how many occurrences you want or and end date for the repeat schedule. Make sure to tap the “Save” button at the top right of the screen when you are done to save your changes.

Your app was the biggest waste of $4.99 I have ever spent! You need to make people aware on your ad in the App Store that it does not work well with iCloud. Not everyone wants to set up 10 different accounts just to use an app on all my devices & need to back up all my info. I request that you give me a refund but if you feel you do not want to I will file a complaint with Apples App Store.

      Hi Julie,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

We tried to send you an email but the address you provided bounced.

We recommend Dropbox as the syncs work faster with our app, however we do work with iCloud. If you do not wish to use a Dropbox account, we can gladly assist you setting up the sync on iCloud. Please let us know. We work with our users to make sure they get value from our app. We can even a set up a phone call to walk you through the steps for sync setup.

Apple handles all app purchase through their App Store on behalf of all app developers. We do not have visibility into the sales process, and they pay developers once a month (a percentage of all sales from the previous month). Because of this model, we really are not in a position to be able to issue a refund to any purchaser. We are aware that sometimes customers who directly contact support for the Apple’s App Store, citing incorrect purchases, Apple does issue an individual refund. It may be worthwhile for you to pursue this possibility through the App Store’s customer support channel.

We would humbly request that you give us a chance to resolve the issue for you.

      Best regards,

      Hi Andrea,

However, your app details state it is universal (“buy…once and use on every iOS device”). Hi Adrienne,
You are correct — one purchase is all you need for all your iOS devices. You need to be logged in as the same user in the iTunes Store app on the other device (same as the user account used for buying it).
On the second device, if you go to the App Store app, go to Updates (bottom right on iPhone), and then go to Purchased at the top, you should see all your purchased apps, and you should see our app with a cloud-down-arrow icon next to it. How can I copy checklists from one event to another, or save them as a template for use in other events?

    • Team LightArrow
      Sep 13, 2013

      Hi Veronica,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

To create a checklist template you can simply create a checklist (add your checklist items) and save it.
When you want to add a copy of this template checklist to an event you can open the template’s detail view and tap on the
action button (located at the bottom left of the view — box with arrow coming out icon) and select “Copy”.

Steps for adding to an event:
1.) After tapping on “Copy” then tap “View” from the popup which will open the details to the checklist.
2.) In the checklist detail view tap on the more button (green circle with arrow pointing left” located at the bottom right of the screen.
This will bring in the right side panel.
3.) On the right side panel tap on “Add” under the “Association” section.
4.) Tap on “Event” and then tap on the event you wish to associate this checklist with.
5.) Tap “Save” and you are done. Now when you open your event you will see that this checklist has been added to it.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Ok, I’m trying to get an app that schedule a group of events automatically. For example, I know that every time I plan an event at my house — be it a holiday or birthday or whatever, there is an optimum timeline stuff to do. So, if I schedule a party for next month, I want the app to automatically schedule me to send invitations exactly 3 weeks before, buy party favors 2 weeks before, clean house a day before, etc. When I schedule a traveling event (dundracon, reunion, whatever), I want it to automatically schedule to check on accommodations 2 months ahead of time, plan budget 1 month ahead, pack 2 days before, And so on. My job consists of groups of routine tasks, and I think I could optimize the pace of my task list so that I’m not overwhelmed at the last minute. Can LifeTopix do this? Because it seems like I need to do it manually for each event. Am I missing something?

      Aug 21, 2013

      Hi Melanie,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

In our October release we plan to add support for task templates. Task templates will allow you to group a set of tasks. For example in your case you would be able to create a task template that would include tasks for sending invitations (3 weeks before), buying party favors (2 weeks before) and clean the house (a day before). The individual tasks would notify you via alerts when they needed to be done. Now you would create an event item in LifeTopix for your event and simply add the task template to that even.

Please let us know if this will work for you.

      Best Regards,

Thanks for an ambitious and interesting app, which I’ve just purchased and started using.

In version 7.0.2, on an iPad mini, I’ve found a bug when I try to edit a Multi-Topic log form. (I went through a lot of repetitions, to make sure it had nothing to do with exactly where or how I was tapping the edit symbol.)

    Hi LifeTopix Dev team -

Tell me please, does LifeTopix aggregate and chart expenses in any way for a time period, like week, month etc. Being able to quickly enter expenses is great, but if I can’t track them, or analyze the data (as with the fitness/health logs) it has limited uses (for me). I have in mind an expense app like Expensify. maybe I just missed it somewhere. Thanks!

      Hi Clay,
Thanks for reaching out. We do plan enhancing the Finances section for expense reporting/charting, and same with bill payments, shopping etc. Some of the features will be free in the update, and we may offer some more advanced features as a reasonably priced in-app purchase (a “Pro Finance” pack, around $1 to $3).
These features are planned for our October release. Our September release is in progress already, with enhancements across other topics. We’ll update our roadmap page soon.

If you have the People + Services topic (available as in-app purchase), then in there, when you create/edit a person, you can set their birthday and anniversary. You can also associate the person with a device contact.

      Hi Joseph,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
We do support moving topics around (or hiding them) in the My Topics view by tapping on the (i) button on the top right. Categories for topics are editable (can be renamed, deleted, hidden, new ones added, etc) from the Manage Categories section of LifeTopix Settings view.
Regarding renaming topics, we do want to support that, and want to make sure we understand what you mean. Can you give us an example of what you’d rename some topics to? For example, would you call “Tasks + Projects” something different? Some examples would help us understand what users have in mind, so that we can figure out a way to support it properly.

Yes, that’s exactly right. It would be great to be able to rename say “Tasks and Projects” as say “Goals” or something like that. I would also find more functionality in the Financial topic if I could create my own categories under the tab and not have to use the ones that are there already like “Expense Calendar” or “Payments Calendar.” Thanks!

We (the app developers) do not control the purchase process, the App Store does. The only thing we specify (being US based) is the price in the US store. Our price in the US store is $4.99. It varies by country, and also by sales tax — all that is automatically handled by the App Store.

      Hi Randy,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

When the Location Services page is grayed out it is usually a result of the location services being set to not allow changes. To make sure that your location services is set to allow changes please go to Settings->General->Restrictions. Make sure your restrictions are either OFF or if it is ON that the Location Services is set to Allow Changes.

When LifeTopix requests permission to use notifications the system will prompt the user for permission. This action should result in LifeTopix being added to the list of notifications.

      Feb 24, 2013

      Hi Ivan,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

LifeTopix allows you to assign a seller to a shopping item (in your shopping list) and the seller can have a location assigned to it. You can tap on “Near Me” on the left side panel of the dashboard (main view) to see items that are near you. In the case where a seller has a location near you and that seller has been assigned to a shopping item then the shopping item will be included in the list of items nearby.

To assign a seller to your shopping list simply tap on the more button (green down arrow) at the right of the shopping item and select “Details”. Tap on the “Seller” field and select a seller and then tap “Save” at the top right of the screen.

To assign a location to the seller simply go to “People + Services” –> “Service Providers” –> “All Service Providers” and find your service provider. Tap on the more button (green down arrow) and select “Details”. At the bottom of the screen you will see some icons. The third one to the right is the location setting icon. Tap the icon and set the location for the seller and then tap “Save” at the top right of the screen.

We plan to add automatic location alerts in the future.

Nothing is needed from our side as long as the app is installed and the launch URL is correct (the app id is only used to find the icon), and the app supports being launched from other apps.
After playing around with the URL, we were able to launch Bluebeam Vu on the iPad with the URL Bluebeam://start — the app id we got was 489696286.
They have another app called Revu which we have not tried.
      Hope this is helpful.

      Best regards,

Is there at least a way to view only my reminders (including device reminders) together within LifeTopix? Without having to simultaneously view other items on my calendar? So I can be sure I’ve taken care of all of them.

          Jan 24, 2013

          Hi Bob,
You can either change the filter (top right icon below +) in the Home Agenda or the My Calendar view to uncheck all other items (projects, tasks, etc.) — or you can use the “Events, Appointments, Reminders” view in the Events topic (which has its own filter as well). You can add the latter view to the Hot List for easier access. You can do that by going into the Events topic, and then tapping on the down green triangle next to the “Events, Appointments, Reminders” view and choose Add to Hot List.

          Hi Kent,

Other users have asked for auto-repeating tasks (new instance created when current instance is completed). This is a variation of the way we do repeating tasks today (all instances created initially). We intent to do this in the near future.

      Hi AndiB,
Thanks for the question. You cannot directly respond to an event invitation. However, that event is visible in LifeTopix (Home, My Calendar, and Event topic views), so you can see edit it from those. Hi Bob,
      Thanks for the kind words!
The device contacts are utilized in LifeTopix as and when you need them — for example, if you create a service provider (your doctor, or your plumber) you can utilize the contacts data for them to associate with the service provider, so that you have access to their contact info without having to leave LifeTopix. Same for trip companions, event invitees/co-hosts, task owners, project participants, etc.
      We hope this helps.

      Hi Marty,
We are truly sorry for that. There is a defect in the current version that causes the app to sometimes take a long time to load when iCloud Sync is enabled. We have fixed this defect in the 5.2 update that we are submitting to Apple next week.

      Dec 21, 2012

      Hi Bettina,
Thanks so much for the kind words! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well!
The size of the box made on the calendar is automatically dependent on the duration of the item — there is not a way to configure it. Can you give us an example of what you meant, so that we can see how we could support that in the future? Also, we’re not sure what you meant by the category colors. Unused categories for things like projects, service providers, etc. can be deleted by swiping on them. If you meant the colors of the calendar items, they are automatically picked up from the device calendar colors, and in the filter of My Calendar, you can select which device calendars you wish to include in your My Calendar view.

I’m having an issue with the calendar feature and events labeled on my various calendars as “all day” events. On the Gmail accounts I use for work, personal and my husband’s calendar the “all day” designation is common. It shows up in my other iOS calendar apps as a single entry at the beginning of the day but on LifeTopix the entries take up the entire day making the weekly calendar view (my preferred view) a mess to use. I have updated to version 5.1 of LifeTopix. The app has now read the “reminders” in Reminders but it seems only as reminders not as tasks as I now have 56 reminders in the app but zero tasks. Perhaps I misunderstood the intention, but I was expecting to now also have 56 tasks which I have synchronised between Outlook and Reminders via Exchange. I may be missing something, or not?, in which case do you plan to treat the imports from Reminders as full tasks some time in the future?

    • LightArrow
      Nov 07, 2012

      Hi Lewis,
Thanks for upgrading to 5.1 and for your question. Yes, we show the entries from the device Reminders app as exactly that, with the ability to check them off as complete the same same way the Reminders app allows to do. So the behavior is more like a to do or a task, rather than like a traditional reminder which only has a title and a time. But more directly to your point, just like we allow device Calendar app entries to be converted to tasks, projects, trips, events, visits etc in LifeTopix, we will add the same ability where you can convert Reminder app entries to LifeTopix items in the future.
Again, thanks for using LifeTopix and keep your questions and suggestions coming.
      Best regards,

Also, we support local device notifications for these types: Task, Reminder, Appointment, Information, Trip, Visit, Project, Event — and Bill will be added in the next update after 5.1.

    Hi Team,
I like the idea of this app and am working my way through it, with much to learn. In Finances, my credit cards seem to come up as debit balances — so it shows more money than I actually have! Is there a way to convert them to credit balances? Thanks, Kaz.

    • LightArrow
      Oct 14, 2012

Thanks for the question, Kaz! The way we meant the credit crd balance to work is to have the the credit limit as the starting Balance. Then you can to add transactions to the account (Withdrawal when you pay for a purchase with it, Deposit when you pay off the credit card bill), so at any give point your Current Balance is whatever is available in your credit line. In the list of transactions, deposits show as positive, for example $2000.00 and withdrawals shows up as negative (with parentheses), for example ($500.00). We have tried to generalize the account and transactions across all account types which has made it a little unclear. We are planning to improve the wording and flow in the near future to make it clearer.

      Oct 09, 2012

      Hi Terri,
Thank you for using LifeTopix and for reaching out with your question. There is not really a way to convert a task into a shopping item, as a shopping item has an associated product with it. We make adding a shopping item as simple or as complete as you wish it to be — if you use the lightning-add, you can start typing in the item name, and if already in the product database from being added before, it shows up tobe picked instantly. If not found, you can just add the item you searched for with a single tap. If you wish or need to, at any time afterwards you can tap on the item to enter other detail like amount, prices, seller, etc.
      We hope this helps.

      Hi Ashley,
That is our fault. We had missed a calendar related change needed by iOS 6. We have already submitted an update (5.0.4) to Apple for expedited approval, which resolves the issue and brings the device calendars back into LifeTopix. We expect it to be available to users in the next couple of days. Although Apple must be flooded with iOS 6 related updates for apps right now, then have been very good at speeding up approvals.

I’m sorry if this is a crazy question but the finance section for Life topics is all manual correct? Nothing feeds directly from the banking or credit institutions (balances/transactions) as other finance applications do correct? Right now I have a Banking/Finance app, a To Do list app, my Calendar app, etc, etc, etc. I was looking for an app that allowed management of all these topics within ONE app. From my initial review of this app I thought I had found it but the Finance section doesnt provide the same support as other Finance apps (mint.com/PageOne). Maybe I’m just not understanding how this app works but it would be great if we could list accounts in the all accounts section, noting there specific due dates/amounts and that information would feed into the payment calendar. Again, maybe I’m just not getting it, but it seems to me to provide viable support for financial informationI the different categories of the finance section would tie together more, allowing better tracking. Also if the payment calendar could be auto populated with the account details (due dates/amounts) from the All account section users would only have to update the payment calendar to reflect the date/amount paid. If I’m missing something please, please help!!

      Hi Valerie,
You are correct — the financial tracking in LifeTopix currently does not have any online integrations. It only integrates with other topics within LifeTopix — for example, payments for people and services, where the services may be for specific events, projects, trips, etc., and the expenses and bills integration with the My Calendar view.
We do plan to support online integrations in the Finances topic in the future.

      Hello BP,
Thanks for the question. You can easily add or edit log units. From the LifeTopix dashboard view tap on the Quick Menu (bottom left) to fan-out the icons including the Settings (gear) icon. Please tap on that, then select Manage Categories. From there, go to Log Entry Units. Scroll down to see the one called “pounds”. Tap on the blue circle (>) icon next to it — it’s tricky to tap on it as it’s a little small. The detail view of that category opens up. The top bar in blue should say “Category” and not “Manage Categories”. Below that, in green you’ll see the word “pounds”. Tap on that and change it to kg. Then tap on Save on the top right, and you are done!

      Hi Jesse,

If you go to the Events topic under My Topics, you will see a row called Appointments. If you tap on that, you will be in the Appointments view where you see a + button on the top right. Tap it to add a new one, enter a title and time (Starts and Ends), and tap Save. If you open the the appointment again, you will see a row called “Not set to repeat” — please tap on that to set the repeat schedule. All the schedule choices are available in that view for the appointment you just created.

        Hi Jesse,
Thanks for the note and for the question.
We do support recurring Appointments (under the Events topic) and recurring tasks under the Task + Projects topic. Events in LifeTopix (Hosting or Attending) are a slightly different thing — designed to be a little more involved (like weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc.).
The Repeat Schedule is available inside an Appointment or a Task after you save it (you can do that by tapping “Create and Add More Data” for a new one). We do support some flexibility similar to what you’ve asked for in the Repeat Schedule, and we’ll keep improving it over time.
