What’s Next

When you tap Home from the View Selec­tor and then tap What’s Next, the What’s Next view appears. This view gives you a quick overview of what’s com­ing up on your agenda, includ­ing to-dos and items with dates.

It is divided among the fol­low­ing sections:

To do lists

You can cre­ate new to do lists (check­lists) and view exist­ing to-do lists directly from this section.

To cre­ate a new to do list, tap Home > Add in the To do lists sec­tion of What’s Next, then tap New Check­list. This action allows you to add a Title, Descrip­tion, and mul­ti­ple to do list items. You can check off each item on the to do list as you com­plete it.

To view an exist­ing check­list in What’s Next, tap Home > Add in the To do lists sec­tion of What’s Next, then tap Choose a Check­list. This action dis­plays an exist­ing check­list in this section.

You can ensure a check­list shows in this view when you cre­ate it else­where in Life­Topix. Tap  next to the check­list item, and then tap Add to What’s Next. Alter­na­tively, add the check­list to this view as you are view­ing it by tap­ping  and then choos­ing Add To What’s Next.

Today

Items with the dates des­ig­nated for the cur­rent day appear in this sec­tion. This includes projects, trips, vis­i­tors, events, bills, shop­ping lists, occa­sions, tasks, appoint­ments, reminders, notes, and expenses.

You can also add items directly to this sec­tion by tap­ping Add and using Quick Add or Quick Log.

Tomor­row

Items with the dates des­ig­nated for the next day appear in this sec­tion. This includes projects, trips, vis­i­tors, events, bills, shop­ping lists, occa­sions, tasks, appoint­ments, reminders, notes, and expenses.

You can also add items directly to this sec­tion by tap­ping Add and using Quick Add or Quick Log.

Next 7 days

Items with the dates des­ig­nated for the next seven days appear in this sec­tion. This includes projects, trips, vis­i­tors, events, bills, shop­ping lists, occa­sions, tasks, appoint­ments, reminders, notes, and expenses.

    This app is exactly what I’ve been search­ing for! I’ve tried them all and this one does every­thing I need and more than I expected. Once I get the hang of it, I will be able to delete a lot of other apps that are mediocre at best :-) My only hang up is that when I cre­ate a task and assign a time to do it, it posts it an hour later. I’m not sure if this is a time change issue or I’m sup­posed to put my time zone in some­where, but it con­fuses me and requires me to go into my desk­top cal­en­der and adjust stuff. Also, Is there a way to avoid hav­ing the [Life Topix] at the end of the task on the cal­en­dar. This prob­a­bly isn’t a big deal, but my OCD ten­den­cies kind of makes me cringe at it :-) Even with these things, I still love your app! Look­ing for­ward to really get­ting in there and mas­ter­ing all the great things in there!

      Thank you for reach­ing out to us with your ques­tions and also for your kind words.

      Would you mind giv­ing us more infor­ma­tion about your task issue? Are you assign­ing a spe­cific time (not just a date) when you set the due date to the task? What do you mean when you say “posts it an hour later”? Are you refer­ring the task itself in Life­Topix, or in the Cal­en­dar app, or the local noti­fi­ca­tion gen­er­ated from the device for the task? If you give us a spe­cific exam­ple it will help us deter­mine and resolve the issue. We really appre­ci­ate your help.

      Life­Topix cur­rently requires the [Life­Topix] tag for cal­en­dar items but we are work­ing on remov­ing that requirement.

    Hello there, I just started using this app today and am already lov­ing it! While I was explor­ing it, just won­der­ing on the Home­page — could I add Tasks List to the To Do instead of Check­list? And could I cus­tomize what to view on the Home­page? If these options aren’t avail­able at the moment, maybe could con­sider adding them in into the next update? A few hic­cups here and there but absolutely an awe­some app!       Hi Zoe,
      Thanks for reach­ing out with the nice words and ques­tions!
      We do plan to add the abil­ity to allow tasks into check­lists in the future. Cur­rently we do show the tasks due today, tomor­row or the 7 days after that, but tasks with­out due dates do not show in What’s Next, so the abil­ity to add tasks (dated or undated) to check­lists would help. Cur­rently the What’s Next view shares the My Cal­en­dar fil­ter, so you can con­fig­ure what to show (or not to show) by tweak­ing the cal­en­dar fil­ter. In the next update we are giv­ing them sep­a­rate fil­ters.
      Another thing that might be of inter­est to you — you can add Tasks Lists (or most other views or indi­vid­ual items) to the Hot List for easy access. For exam­ple, if you go Tasks + Projects, and tap on the down green arrow icon, you will see the option to Add to Hot List.

    Greet­ings — I use Life­Topix daily and love it — my only obser­va­tion is that it now runs VERY VERY slowly! When I start the APP on either my iPHONE or iPAD, it takes min­utes, not sec­onds, to load and start up. Have you any thoughts or ideas regard­ing this? Thank you in advance — Jeff Hallum

      Hi Jeff,
      Thanks for the reach­ing out with the kind words and the issue. In our 5.1 update, we made some fixes to address the long startup time affect­ing some users. Please let us know if you’ve already applied that, and still have issues. If so, we’ll work with you to inves­ti­gate what we might have missed in our fixes so far.
