My Apps

The My Apps view allows you to launch any of your apps directly from LifeTopix — no more searching for apps or leaving LifeTopix to locate and launch the apps that you frequently use.

You can launch your favorite apps by simply setting up URL schemes. The format of the URL scheme is app name://. For most apps, the URL scheme includes the name of the app, such as Yelp://. However, some apps such as Facebook use an abbreviated name. For example, for Facebook the URL scheme is fb://.

We have started a page with a few popular apps: Launch URLs for Popular Apps.

Other sites such as http://handleopenurl.com include information about URLs for apps as well.

To set up an app:

  • From the Dashboard, tap My Apps from the View Selector and then tap the Plus sign.
  • In the App Name field, Type the name of the app.
  • In the Launch URL field, type the URL scheme, such as app name://.
  • In the App Id field, tap the Disclosure button to auto-fill the App Id.
  • Tap Save.

The App now displays in the My Apps view, and you can launch your app directly from this view. If the app does not launch correctly or an incorrect app icon displays, you might need to modify the App Id manually. To find the correct App Id, conduct a Google search. Hint: From the App store, the app id is the number shown in bold in the following example in the URL of the page, such as: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lifetopix/id399076264?mt=8 (e.g. 399076264 is the App Id).

If you wish to modify the app settings, click the Disclosure button. If you wish to remove the app from the list, swipe to clear it, and tap Clear from My Apps.

Request/suggestion– Guys, great app! Unless its there and I can’t see it, you may want to allow manual sorting of the apps (like in other parts of the app UI). Keep up the good work.

As an aside, for now as a work around I include a number (1–10) to lead the name of the app to achieve a “manual” sort.

      Hi Dave,

      Thanks for the suggestion.

We plan to add support for manually sorting the items in the My Apps list in our 6.1 update which will be available in about three weeks.

      Best regards,

I find this app very confusing but I want it to work so badly!
I host a lot of meetings. Church meetings, fundraising meetings and catering meetings.
I use an agenda and take a lot of notes. I like to email the notes to all the participants.
How can lifeTopics help me with this. Or is there an App that I can use that will sync with Life Topix.

      Hi Roxanne,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

You can use a Hosting Event (Events topic -> Events, Appointments and Reminder view). The simplest way is to put all notes related to that event in the event description field. Then you can email the event from the right side panel. We also allow you to add tasks, photos, individual notes, etc. inside the event but that is more for your own organization.

Another approach used by many users is to have your event in LifeTopix and notes in Evernote, because we allow you to associate your notes in Evernote with LifeTopix items such as event, trips, projects and more. You can setup Evernote note syncing from the “Notes + Files” topic.

Please let us know if we can give you any additional information on how to use the app.

      Best regards,
      Team LightArrow
