This topic enables you to manage all the information related to the events you attend and host, the places you like to go, and the outings you want to take.
Key features of the Events topic
- ability to define events you plan to attend, including the host, start and end dates, location, and shopping items
- ability to define events you are hosting, including the start and end dates, location, invitees, tasks, shopping items, and services
- ability to track RSVPs from invitees for events you are hosting
- automatic reminders through integration with your device’s Calendar
- touchpoints to the People + Services and Travel + Places topics
Using Events touchpoints
Touchpoints allow relevant information to be shared seamlessly between Events and the People + Services and Travel + Places topics. Example: if you have outings you want to plan as part of a trip you are taking, you can define that outing directly from within Travel + Places and it will show up as an outing in Events. Or, if a service provider for one of your events already exists in People + Services, you can link to them directly, eliminating the need to re-enter their information.
How do I use Events?
The Events topic view provides these sections:
- Event Calendar — a filterable view of all events defined in LifeTopix

- Appointments — appointments you have defined in LifeTopix
- Reminders — reminders you have defined in LifeTopix
- All Events — all events defined including those hosted by you and those hosted by someone else
- Categories for Events

When an events category is hidden, it no longer appears in the Categories for Events section, but it remains defined in LifeTopix and is still available in the category list when you are defining a new event. Note that events categories that are in use or serve as touchpoints to another topic cannot be deleted or hidden.
To create a new events category, go to the Quick Menu and tap
, and then tap Manage Categories. Tap Events in the list.

If there are subcategories defined in that category, they are all shown in a section whose behavior is described immediately above.

Another request/suggestion: Is it possible to add repeating functions for Reminders and Device Reminders?
LightArrow
Thanks again for a great suggestion, Bryan. We’ll add that in the future. TOday only tasks, appointments, bills repeat.
Best regards,

I have a couple of questions on the event function:
1. Is there a way to set recurring events?
2. Is there a way to add birthdates of people we know without actually specifying that there is a physical “event” associated with it (did that make ANY sense, whatsoever?)?
3. I cannot figure out the appointments category.
Any advice on these matters would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Emile,
Thanks for reaching out.
1. Events don;t recur yet (only appointments, tasks, bills do). We’ll add this in the future.
2. Yes, it makes perfect sense. You can use Occasion Reminders in the Events topic, or you can include a Birthday calendar from your device.
3. Appointments in LifeTopix are things like meetings (doctor’s appointment, lunch appointment, etc.) whereas Events in LifeTopix are designed to be bigger things that may require planning/tracking/shopping/services associated with them, such as birthday parties, wedding showers, graduations, etc.
We hope this helps!

I took your advice, but am still having some difficulties:
1. How do you get to the occasion reminders in the Events topic?
2. How do you get to the appointments section (I have tried tapping the Appointments category in the top of the events page, but all I get is a pop up asking me if I want the calendar details, or if I want to put the category on my hot list.)?
LightArrow
In the Events topic, in the “Events, Appointments, and Reminders” view if you tap + on the top right, you can add various things including Occasions. If you tap Occasion, you can enter title , date, and choose to be reminder every year — and it creates 12 by default, or whatever the max occurrences is set to in LifeTopix Settings yearly entries.
Appointments are also in the same view and added the saem way, as are reminders, events (hosting and attending), device Calendar app items or device Reminder app items.
We hope this helps!
Best regards,
