Near Me

The Near Me fea­ture gives you one-tap access to a view of the Life­Topix items that are in the vicin­ity of your cur­rent loca­tion. Tasks, sell­ers for shop­ping items, events, appoint­ments, notes, audio, pho­tos, and videos sup­port this loca­tion aware­ness. In order for an item to be included in the Near Me view, you must have pre­vi­ously set the loca­tion for that item.

Note: The Near Me fea­ture requires that you enable Loca­tion Ser­vices ser­vices on your device. To enable Loca­tion Ser­vices on your device, go to your device Set­tings and tap Loca­tion Ser­vices, then set Loca­tion Ser­vices to ON. If Life­Topix appears in the list of appli­ca­tions pro­vided, make sure Life­Topix is set to ON. If Life­Topix does not appear in the list of appli­ca­tions pro­vided, then the first time you try to set the loca­tion for an object in Life­Topix, you will be asked if you want to allow Life­Topix to be able to use your cur­rent loca­tion — you must grant this request in order to have access to the Near Me fea­ture in LifeTopix.

Loca­tion infor­ma­tion can be spec­i­fied for assets and projects, but those items will not be included in the Near Me view.

Loca­tion infor­ma­tion can be spec­i­fied for ser­vice providers and sell­ers, but those will only be included in the Near Me view if an appoint­ment, task, or a shop­ping item is asso­ci­ated with them.

How do I use Near Me?

Tap Near Me in the View Selec­tor to go to the Near Me view.

By default, the Near Me view shows items within a radius of 5 miles of your cur­rent loca­tion*. You can change the dis­tance or the mea­sure­ment mode from miles to kilo­me­ters by tap­ping on the dis­tance selec­tor at the top.

How do I set an Item’s location?

While view­ing a task, seller for a shop­ping item, appoint­ment, note, audio, photo, or video,  or  will appear.  will appear if the loca­tion for the item is not cur­rently set;  will appear if the loca­tion for the item is cur­rently set.

While view­ing an event, tap Loca­tion to set the event’s location.

To set the loca­tion for an item, tap either  or . Tap Set Loca­tion to ‘Here’ to set the loca­tion to where you cur­rently are, or tap Spec­ify Loca­tion Man­u­ally to bring up a map, which will allow you to spec­ify an address or latitude/longitude.

Past events and appoint­ments will not appear in the Near Me view; events and appoint­ments will only appear in the Near Me view if their start or end date is now or in the future.

How is the loca­tion deter­mined for Tasks and Appointments?

If a task or appoint­ment has a loca­tion spec­i­fied for it, that loca­tion is used for place­ment in the Near Me view.

If a task or appoint­ment does not have a loca­tion spec­i­fied for it, but it is asso­ci­ated with a ser­vice provider that does have a loca­tion spec­i­fied, the ser­vice provider’s loca­tion is used for place­ment in the Near Me view.

If a ser­vice provider’s loca­tion is not explic­itly set but that ser­vice provider is asso­ci­ated with an entry in your device’s Con­tacts, then that ser­vice provider’s loca­tion is deter­mined by its address as spec­i­fied in your device’s Contacts.

* Note: The accu­racy of the geolo­ca­tion capa­bil­ity of your device depends on many fac­tors. Its deter­mi­na­tion of your cur­rent loca­tion may not be precise.
