Events

This topic is included in LifeTopix and is available as an in-app-purchase in My.Agenda.

Attending a party can be fun, but organizing one can often be a logistical nightmare. The Event Planning topic saves the day by delivering powerful out-of-the-box capabilities beyond anything you would expect from an event planning application. In addition to handling basic event information like event date, location, attendees, etc., seamless integration with other life topics enables access to all the related information you have already captured elsewhere including contacts, shopping lists, and tasks & projects. Once created, you can view everything on your family calendar. This spares you from time-consuming data entry and gives you more time to plan your events. Best of all, this integration is two-way. The result is better events which take less time to plan. Social collaboration at its best!

Plan superior events more easily and effectively with the Events topic.

Hiya — just started using your App and I’ve added a future recurring event. The event spans over the end of Daylight Saving Time. The first time it shows on the calendar after the end of DST, the appt time rolls back an hour. Instead of the appt starting at 8:30a, it starts at 7:30a. I’ve looked for a DST setting to see if I can override what the calendar is doing, but don’t see one. The calendar knows that DST ends on Nov 3rd, because the appt time changed that week and the following 3 weeks I have scheduled.

Thanks for looking in to this,
    Michele

      Hi Michele,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We have fixed this issue in our 6.0.1 update which will be available today from the Apple App Store. The fix will prevent this issue from happening again when creating new repeat schedules. To correct your problem, since you have already created the schedule for your event, you can simply open the schedule detail for that event and tap the “Save” button (without changing anything). This will recompute the the schedule and will fix your issue.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

      Best regards,
      Team LightArrow

    Hi,

I see that when you create an event, you can “add item”. I was wondering
if it’s possible to “add item” in regular scheduling (eg. something put into
    your schedule in Ical).

    Thanks for your time,
    Jeremy

      Hi Jeremy,

You can add a task or an appointment to your LifeTopix event and then set a repeat schedule to the task/appointment. The event and the repeating tasks/appointments will show up in your iOS device Calendar app.

Or are you asking if you can use the “Add Item” feature to a device event visible in LifeTopix?

      Best regards,

Can I copy or duplicate an event? My kids have sporting events weekly, but they don’t repeat consistently and it would be helpful to be able to create an event, copy it, and just change the date and time.

      Hi Phillip,
Thanks for the question. We do support copy for tasks (fromt he detail view, action icon at bottom). We plan to add copy for projects, events, and appointments in the near future.

Lifetopix imported multiple calendars from my iPhone calendar app. When I am adding an event to the Lifetopix calendar, how do I assign that event to particular calendar?

      Hi Phillip,
If you got to Settings in LifeTopix (gear icon accessible from bottom left arrow menu) and then go into My Settings, you’ll see an option for Default Device Calendar. From there, you can select the one you want LifeTopix to create items in.

I use the different calendars to sync to Google Calendar, which is our main “family” calendar. Different calendars represent different schedules, such as “Maddie’s” events, “Jake’s” events, “Vacation”, etc… So are you saying that each time I want to assign an event to a different calendar I have to go to the setup menu and choose a different default calendar? Is there no easy way to assign a calendar to an event as I am creating the event?

          Hi Phillip,
You are correct — right now the target calendar is set at a system level. We do plan to allow setting it by item as well as category in the future.
We do allow for the device calendar event to be opened from Home (What’s Next), My Calendar, etc., so that you can change the calendar for the event as a short term fix.
          Best regards,

I would love to see example posts on appointments vs events and how ios calendar comes into play. I am getting confused on how the three work together. I had an appointment and found myself wanting to attach notes and realized attachments could only be done with events.

      Hi Betty,
In the simplest terms, in LifeTopix, an appointent is something like an eye exam or a lunch meeting with a client, whereas an event is more involved (hosting or attending), like a birthday party, or an open house, etc, where within the event itself, things such as notes, tasks, reminders, checklists, shopping, services etc. can be associated. Device calendar items can be seen in LifeTopix in the What’s Next, My Calendar, and Events views, and can be converted into LifeTopix items when you wish to manage them more like a LifeTopix item (Trip, Visit, Event, Project, Task, etc.).
We like your advice of making a blog post and/or video on this topic, and will do so in the near future.
      Best regards,
