Is there a free version to try?

      Hi Gary,

      Thanks for reaching out!

We do not have a free version for LifeTopix. There is a starter edition app called My.Agenda for US 99cents that lets one start small and add what they need. Currently it’s awaiting it’s 3.0 update approval from Apple, which brings it to the same technology level as LifeTopix (without all the features).

Considering purchasing the app, but wanted to know when ProTasks is released will that be part of the full LifeTopix suite or will that have to be a separate purchase? Thanks

      Hi Dan,

      Thanks for reaching out!

Yes, all the features of Pro Tasks will be available as an in-app purchase called Pro Tasks Pack in LifeTopix and My.Agenda — both are planned for May. Our plan is to always include such advanced features first as an in-app purchase in LifeTopix and My.Agenda, and then also as a standalone app soon thereafter for those who just want that part as an app. We have done that with the Pro Contacts Pack and Pro Inbox Pack — which also are being released as standalone apps soon.

Any talk of having a weekly view similar to the one in ICal? — Visually it helps me see the week as a whole.

Can the categories be used for contacts, projects, events and so on?

Looking to use this as a CRM of sorts

    Thanks

      Hi Ed,

In the April update (8.1), we pan to add an improved Month view to My Calendar for the iPad. Is the current Week view lacking in ways you’d like to see improve?
Contacts have groups, projects/events/assets and other topic objects have categories. They all have context tags as well (that go across types).

We are adding CRM like features to the People + Services topic in 8.0 (coming out in a few days) — advanced features will be available as an in-app purchase called “Pro Contacts Pack”. Hi Mike,
Thanks so much for reaching out! We are adding Agenda items and additional print options in the March/April update. We have a huge update (8.0) coming out next week with lots of awesome things as well. More info on the 8.0 update at: http://lightarrow.com/sneak-peek-8–0 and http://lightarrow.com/lifetopix/roadmap
The one after that (8.1 update — March/April) will focus on improvements in Agenda, Calendar, Tasks, Schedules, etc.

Can you easily transfer google calendar into Lifetopix? Also if you continue to receive google calendar entries will they be imported?

    • Team LightArrow
      Jan 29, 2014

      Hi Dave,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

Our app works directly with iOS Calendar app to manage your calendars. If you have added your Google calendar to your iOS device’s Calendar app then the Google calendar can be accessed in our app as well. Our app relies on the iOS Calendar app to manage syncing between your calendars. After your iOS Calendar app is done syncing the calendars then our app shows the current/updated items in those calendars. Our app provides the option to convert your Google calendar items into native items (data items and topic items) in our app as well.

I have tried Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer, and all three browsers show the LifeTopix videos on the video page without any titles. The videos play, but I have know idea which video I’m selecting (no titles or metadata appear in browser).

Just bought your app today. So far it seems overwhelming but overall pretty good. One question (for now,) how do I set a daily reminder to take my allergy pills? I’ve added the med to the Health + Activity section. I see how I can update my log when I take my pill, HOWEVER, I can’t figure out how to set the app to remind me each morning to take it.

      Hi Joe,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

You can choose to create a device reminder from the device’s Reminders app and set it up to reminder you every day to take your pill. If LifeTopix has been given access to your Reminders app then those reminders will be visible in LifeTopix as well.

You can also make a checklist with all your daily items — call it Daily Routine and add it as a To Do List in the Agenda view, so that it’s easily accessible. We don’t have a reminder for it yet, but the items can be cleared and rechecked. We also support repeat tasks and appointments that support alerts. However a device reminder is a good way to do thus right now, and it’s easily visible on the Agenda view as mentioned above.

      Thanks for a fine app.

At the moment an activity spanning a block of days is indicated with a dot in the days in week/month view. It would be great if the month view can show time bars running across a block of days. It would be even better if they can be colour coded. Eg. Conference (blue), vacation (green), exams (red). Pocket Informant offers a really useful calendar. I’m sure it would be easy for you folks to do. Thanks in advance.

Very impressed by your rapid response, Team LightArrow. Glad to learn about upcoming calendar improvements.

Four more requests to improve calendar, which is the main weakness in your suite:

          1. At the moment, your year view is actually an action/event list. Would be very good if you could also make it show the 12 months of the year at a glance, in a pop out.
          2. A gliding week view on top
          3. Ability to change/move a task/event on the calendar by tapping.
          4. Enable horizontal views in the iPhone app?

          Thanks.

    Hi!
I’m new to this app but I already love what people describe it can do. I would love it if you would upload some new instructional videos with the more recent platform. This looks like it might be the original life topix which looks very different than the current version so it’s hard to use the videos as tutorials because everything looks different. If you can replace these old videos with new ones for the iPad that would be awesome for new users. I don’t want to give up on this app cause I know it’s going to be awesome but videos would help with the learning curve.

    Thanks :-)

Another feature I would love to see added and that I do not see anywhere on your App is “GOALS
I have in the past used color coded index cards to set goals for myself, such as read three books this month, or buy 2 IPads by this date, or finish Getting my office clutter free by this date. I associate photos with some of the goals (like the IPad one) for visual incentive. Is ther a way to have life Topix category on here that allow me to view those Major goals in an “at a glance” view?

    Thanks,

      Jul 29, 2012

      Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the question. We currently support Context Tags which some users use for goals. Most items in LifeTopix can be tagged with a context, and in the Context Tags view, you can view all the items in a given context. In a future update we plan to assign a color or a photo to a context so that they are easily distinguishable in a mixed-item view such as all the calendar views in lifeTopix.
In the future, we do plan to support goal management more explicitly, so that a goal is more of a statement with a date associated with it, similar to what you have suggested. We plan to try our log item metrics with the goals. FYI, today we also support a “target/goal value” with log items for activity, nutrition, etc. For example, one can set a goal value of 180 minutes for Weekly Total for cardio activity, or 8 glasses of water as a Daily Total.
We appreciate your reaching out to make us a better app!

Not bad, but I’m looking for a short description for a goal and the ability to import a photo from my IPad, or a photo I found on the Internet

Example: “BUY NEW CAR” with a photo of that Car next to the Goal, ability to color code items “to buy” in gold, “health goals” in blue, “financial” goal in red
        Etc

      Hi Lyn,
Thanks for your kind words, and for reaching out to us!
All the log units are customizable. In LifeTopix, you can go to System (gear icon on the bottom of LifeTopix home view) and Manage Categories. Towards the bottom, you can tap on Log Entry units, and add new ones such as kgs, meters, cm, etc. You can also edit an existing unit’s title (from pounds to kgs, for example). After doing that, they are available while making log entries.
In the Near Me view, you can change the units to kilometers from miles.
      We hope that helps!

    Hello,
i’m a new user trying to find my way around–but the main reason I looked for something more than iPad default software is a better calenar. It seems to me that the “month” view is a bit wasted. The calendar is small and still shows the day timeline also visible in the Day view. I would vastly prefer the calendar take up most or all of the space, to see actual events / appts. / bills due / trips all together throughout the month instead of just a “.” and also having to choose them by type and seeing all of one type of transaction. Now it would be helpful to keep the detail list for the chosen day in month view, in addition to the month calendar, but the day timeline on the same view is not useful to me–I would rather switch to day view if further detail on the timing is necessary.

    Hi there.
Good looking app. Sometimes seems like a bit of a steep learning curve, but I like how it has most things in one app. Just some questions:
    – Is it possible, once I have made a Quick Add Recording, Note, etc. to then move it to another item — e.g. an already existing Project? I just like to quickly add things sometimes, and then file them later. I can’t see how you can do this currently.
    – Is it possible, for a future release, to link Health and Activity to a Project? I have a Project, such as ‘Lost Weight’ that has various aspects to it, but can’t see how it can be linked to Health and Activity items like weight, food, etc.
    – Can a future release have the option to add custom measurements that are not numbers (e.g. Y/N) under Health Activities. E.g. Exercise — Y/N. Currently all values have to be numeric (I believe).
    Thanks,
    Jared.

      Nov 15, 2011

      Hi Jared,

      Thank you for the compliment!

You raise several great points — we’ll address each one of them in turn.

First, regarding whether or not you can take an item that you have created previously and assign it to another item… You may have noticed that tasks, notes, bookmarks, and files already work that way. In other words, you can create a task (either via Quick Add, or via Tasks + Projects > Task List or Tasks + Projects > Task Calendar) and then, at some later date, assign that task to a topic object (project, event, trip, visit, etc.) — you do that using the (+/-) button in the task list for a project/trip/event etc. The same with notes, files and bookmarks. The feedback on this model has been so positive that we intend to apply it more generally throughout the product so that you will be able to do the same sort of thing with audio clips, checklists, etc. As always, you can monitor our roadmap on our website to learn when features like this are planned.

We are also simplifying and making it easier to add items directly to topic objects in update 3.1 coming in December.

We have never been asked before for the ability to associate a Health + Activity log to an item such as a project — that’s a really interesting idea. We’ll discuss that and see if we can do it in a user-friendly way that would give you the capability you are after. Allowing general purpose metrics to be associated with topic objects (projects, trips etc.) does make sense to us.

You are correct that currently all the log value types are numeric. A binary (yes/no) log value type is certainly reasonable, so we will look into how we can add that to the product. While we’re doing that, are there other log value types that you would consider particularly useful?

Thanks very much for your questions and suggestions!

      Team LightArrow.

      Hello Tjeerd,
Thanks for using LifeTopix and for your question!
In the first part of this video, when the user logs in to MobileMe, the folder they see called “My Regular Backups” is a folder that they should have already created on MobileMe. You can name it anything you wish, but it needs to be created on your MobileMe account directly before LifeTopix can select it (as shown in the video) and use it for backups and restore.
Also, Apple has already announced that they will replace MobileMe later this year with iCloud. For that reason, we recommend that for now users should use Dropbox for LifeTopix backups. Dropbox is a free service. We will support iCloud when it is publicly available to users.
      Best regards,
      Team LightArrow
