Just bought your app today. So far it seems overwhelming but overall pretty good. One question (for now,) how do I set a daily reminder to take my allergy pills? I’ve added the med to the Health + Activity section. I see how I can update my log when I take my pill, HOWEVER, I can’t figure out how to set the app to remind me each morning to take it.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.
You can choose to create a device reminder from the device’s Reminders app and set it up to reminder you every day to take your pill. If LifeTopix has been given access to your Reminders app then those reminders will be visible in LifeTopix as well.
You can also make a checklist with all your daily items — call it Daily Routine and add it as a To Do List in the Agenda view, so that it’s easily accessible. We don’t have a reminder for it yet, but the items can be cleared and rechecked. We also support repeat tasks and appointments that support alerts. However a device reminder is a good way to do thus right now, and it’s easily visible on the Agenda view as mentioned above.
Hi!
I’m new to this app but I already love what people describe it can do. I would love it if you would upload some new instructional videos with the more recent platform. This looks like it might be the original life topix which looks very different than the current version so it’s hard to use the videos as tutorials because everything looks different. If you can replace these old videos with new ones for the iPad that would be awesome for new users. I don’t want to give up on this app cause I know it’s going to be awesome but videos would help with the learning curve.
Hi Betty,
Thanks for reaching out. We pan to do more videos in the next few weeks with the new UI — we plan to start making them after our 5.1 update ships in early November.

Another feature I would love to see added and that I do not see anywhere on your App is “GOALS“
I have in the past used color coded index cards to set goals for myself, such as read three books this month, or buy 2 IPads by this date, or finish Getting my office clutter free by this date. I associate photos with some of the goals (like the IPad one) for visual incentive. Is ther a way to have life Topix category on here that allow me to view those Major goals in an “at a glance” view?
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the question. We currently support Context Tags which some users use for goals. Most items in LifeTopix can be tagged with a context, and in the Context Tags view, you can view all the items in a given context. In a future update we plan to assign a color or a photo to a context so that they are easily distinguishable in a mixed-item view such as all the calendar views in lifeTopix.
In the future, we do plan to support goal management more explicitly, so that a goal is more of a statement with a date associated with it, similar to what you have suggested. We plan to try our log item metrics with the goals. FYI, today we also support a “target/goal value” with log items for activity, nutrition, etc. For example, one can set a goal value of 180 minutes for Weekly Total for cardio activity, or 8 glasses of water as a Daily Total.
We appreciate your reaching out to make us a better app!
Best regards,
Team LightArrow
Not bad, but I’m looking for a short description for a goal and the ability to import a photo from my IPad, or a photo I found on the Internet
Example: “BUYNEWCAR” with a photo of that Car next to the Goal, ability to color code items “to buy” in gold, “health goals” in blue, “financial” goal in red
Etc
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for using LifeTopix, and for the question!
In our 5.0 update (due out in a couple of weeks), the Home view has an agenda like view that has date relevant items for Today, Tomorrow and the 7 days after.
In future updates, we plan to add a weekly view to all our calendar based views as well.
Best regards,
Team LightArrow
Hi Tjeerd: Thanks for the app. Is there any way to have ‘all day’ tasks show up on the day and month view of the calendar as a single line item at the top similary to outlook? For those items, it shows 12am to 12am meeting request. Thanks, jp
Hi James,
Thanks for reaching out with the question. Showing all day tasks as a single line item at the top is something we are planning to do in an update in the near future — most likely in the 5.1 update next month.

Hi,
I have downloaded your app as it looks like something very useful. The ability to link items across is a wonderful idea.
I have started to try and enter my data, but I cannot seem to find how to change it to metric, as in cms and kgs etc.
My apologies if you have already addressed this issue. I have been hunting the help areas without success so I thought a direct question would be the way for me to go.
Hi Lyn,
Thanks for your kind words, and for reaching out to us!
All the log units are customizable. In LifeTopix, you can go to System (gear icon on the bottom of LifeTopix home view) and Manage Categories. Towards the bottom, you can tap on Log Entry units, and add new ones such as kgs, meters, cm, etc. You can also edit an existing unit’s title (from pounds to kgs, for example). After doing that, they are available while making log entries.
In the Near Me view, you can change the units to kilometers from miles.
We hope that helps!
Best regards,
Team LightArrow
Hello,
i’m a new user trying to find my way around–but the main reason I looked for something more than iPad default software is a better calenar. It seems to me that the “month” view is a bit wasted. The calendar is small and still shows the day timeline also visible in the Day view. I would vastly prefer the calendar take up most or all of the space, to see actual events / appts. / bills due / trips all together throughout the month instead of just a “.” and also having to choose them by type and seeing all of one type of transaction. Now it would be helpful to keep the detail list for the chosen day in month view, in addition to the month calendar, but the day timeline on the same view is not useful to me–I would rather switch to day view if further detail on the timing is necessary.
Matt
Thanks very much for your candid feedback and suggestions. We are always on the lookout for ways to make LifeTopix even easier to use, so we will give some thought to your points with an eye toward determining whether or not there is a way we might be able to incorporate some of those in future releases.
Hi there.
Good looking app. Sometimes seems like a bit of a steep learning curve, but I like how it has most things in one app. Just some questions:
– Is it possible, once I have made a Quick Add Recording, Note, etc. to then move it to another item — e.g. an already existing Project? I just like to quickly add things sometimes, and then file them later. I can’t see how you can do this currently.
– Is it possible, for a future release, to link Health and Activity to a Project? I have a Project, such as ‘Lost Weight’ that has various aspects to it, but can’t see how it can be linked to Health and Activity items like weight, food, etc.
– Can a future release have the option to add custom measurements that are not numbers (e.g. Y/N) under Health Activities. E.g. Exercise — Y/N. Currently all values have to be numeric (I believe).
Thanks,
Jared.
You raise several great points — we’ll address each one of them in turn.
First, regarding whether or not you can take an item that you have created previously and assign it to another item… You may have noticed that tasks, notes, bookmarks, and files already work that way. In other words, you can create a task (either via Quick Add, or via Tasks + Projects > Task List or Tasks + Projects > Task Calendar) and then, at some later date, assign that task to a topic object (project, event, trip, visit, etc.) — you do that using the (+/-) button in the task list for a project/trip/event etc. The same with notes, files and bookmarks. The feedback on this model has been so positive that we intend to apply it more generally throughout the product so that you will be able to do the same sort of thing with audio clips, checklists, etc. As always, you can monitor our roadmap on our website to learn when features like this are planned.
We are also simplifying and making it easier to add items directly to topic objects in update 3.1 coming in December.
We have never been asked before for the ability to associate a Health + Activity log to an item such as a project — that’s a really interesting idea. We’ll discuss that and see if we can do it in a user-friendly way that would give you the capability you are after. Allowing general purpose metrics to be associated with topic objects (projects, trips etc.) does make sense to us.
You are correct that currently all the log value types are numeric. A binary (yes/no) log value type is certainly reasonable, so we will look into how we can add that to the product. While we’re doing that, are there other log value types that you would consider particularly useful?
Thanks very much for your questions and suggestions!
Hi I follow the instructions of you Online Backup and restore, but cannot find out how the folder Regular Backups is created. Is that on the device or in MobileMe? In my case the action to backup ends up with the comment that the online folder is not accessible. Who is that i do wrong?
Hello Tjeerd,
Thanks for using LifeTopix and for your question!
In the first part of this video, when the user logs in to MobileMe, the folder they see called “My Regular Backups” is a folder that they should have already created on MobileMe. You can name it anything you wish, but it needs to be created on your MobileMe account directly before LifeTopix can select it (as shown in the video) and use it for backups and restore.
Also, Apple has already announced that they will replace MobileMe later this year with iCloud. For that reason, we recommend that for now users should use Dropbox for LifeTopix backups. Dropbox is a free service. We will support iCloud when it is publicly available to users.
