WHAT CAN I DO HERE?

The Education topic is perfect for managing all learning topics, assignments, education-related information resources, and class notes. If you’re a student or anyone who’s learning something new through any type of class (from Algebra to Zoology), the Education topic keeps your learning on track. For example, you can set up all your subjects and add assignments to your subjects. Alerts and automatic reminders keep you on top of your studying, practice, and homework assignments through integration with your device’s calendar. In addition, you can add various items to the Education topic, such as tasks, bookmarks, photos, tasks, and more. This allows you to keep track of bookmarks for online references, such as syllabuses, schedules, invoices, and class assignments, as well as other reference materials and to-dos. In addition, you can easily manage your class notes through the touchpoint with the Notes + Files, Lists topic and associate your notes with any class subject or education project.

GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Education Project: A project for any education-related endeavor, such as “Home Schooling 2014,” “Learn Piano,” “Java Programming,” etc. for the purpose of assigning tasks and holding reference material. Education projects take the category of “Education.”

Education Subject: A subject, such as “English 101″ or “Algebra 1.”

Assignment: A project for any education-related assignment that requires completion. Education Assignments take the category of “Assignment.”

Education Notes: Class notes or any notes related to learning something new.

TOUCHPOINTS

Touchpoints allow relevant information to be shared seamlessly between Education and other topics. Touchpoints for Education include Projects + Tasks and Notes + Files, Lists. For example, if you have notes you want to use for subjects you’re taking, you can specify the notes directly from within the Notes + Files, Lists topic and those notes will automatically be available from within the Education topic. The same is true for projects that you define in Tasks + Projects — projects that you created for your education.

CATEGORIES FOR EDUCATION

Categories are available for use with education projects, subjects, and notes. You can create, modify, hide, or delete categories via Settings or directly from a tile for a subject, project or note. When a category is deleted, it is completely removed from your app. When a education or notes category is hidden, it no longer appears in the Categories tile, but it remains defined, and is still available in the category list when you are defining a new project, subject, or note. Note that categories that are in use or serve as touchpoints to another topic cannot be deleted or hidden. For information about creating categories, refer to your help for Manage Categories.

ALERTS

Alerts display at the top of the Education view for anything related to education projects, subjects, or assignments that are due within the next five days or currently overdue. For example, if you have an assignment that’s due, an alert displays to let you know. Or, if you’ve created a reminder to study for an exam, an alert shows.

CREATING EDUCATION PROJECTS (NEW PROJECT / PROJECT VIEW)
