WHAT CAN I DO HERE?

The Near Me view gives you one-tap access to a view of your LightAr­row app items that are in the vicin­ity of your cur­rent loca­tion. In other words, if you set a loca­tion for assets, appoint­ments, audio, con­tacts, events, notes, pho­tos, shop­ping items, ser­vice providers, tasks, trips, or video you can view these items on the map in the Near Me view, which helps you plan your day — espe­cially if you’re run­ning errands or vis­it­ing clients. In addi­tion, the Near Me view is pow­ered by foursquare®, which allows you to search for arts & enter­tain­ment, events, food, shops, and other types of busi­ness near you. If these busi­nesses are busi­nesses that you fre­quently use, you can con­vert them to Places, Sell­ers, Banks, or Ser­vice Providers in your LightAr­row app directly from the Near Me view.

Note: The Near Me fea­ture requires that you enable Loca­tion Ser­vices ser­vices on your device. To enable Loca­tion Ser­vices on your device, go to your device Set­tings and tap Loca­tion Ser­vices (within Pri­vacy), then set Loca­tion Ser­vices to On. If your LightAr­row app appears in the list of appli­ca­tions pro­vided, make sure it is set to On. If your LightAr­row app does not appear in the list of appli­ca­tions pro­vided, then the first time you try to set the loca­tion for an object in your LightAr­row app, you will be asked if you want to allow the app to be able to use your cur­rent loca­tion — you must grant this request in order to have access to the Near Me features.

Note: The accu­racy of the geolo­ca­tion capa­bil­ity of your device depends on many fac­tors. Its deter­mi­na­tion of your cur­rent loca­tion may not be precise.

Loca­tion Ser­vices: Loca­tion Ser­vices allows our app to use infor­ma­tion from cel­lu­lar and wifi to deter­mine your approx­i­mate loca­tion. and the loca­tion of other entities.

How do change the dis­tance or mea­sure­ment mode of the Near Me view:

By default, the Near Me view shows items within a radius of 5 miles of your cur­rent location.

  1. Tap the dis­tance selec­tor at the top of the view.
  2. Choose miles or kilo­me­ters, and then choose the num­ber that you pre­fer (your app remem­bers this setting).
  3. Tap Set.

How to set loca­tion for an item:

For audio, pho­tos, or video, tap­ping the loca­tion icon sets the loca­tion of an item. For items such as assets, appoint­ments, con­tacts, events, notes, shop­ping items, ser­vice providers, tasks, or trips, tap­ping the Loca­tion tile allows you to set a loca­tion. Past events and appoint­ments do not appear in the Near Me view; events and appoint­ments only appear in the Near Me view if their start or end date is now or in the future.

  1. Open the item you wish to set a loca­tion for.
  2. Tap the Loca­tion icon or the Loca­tion tile for an item.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Set Loca­tion to “Here”: Sets the loca­tion to the near­est location.
    • Specify/Show on Map: Searches for the loca­tion and chooses it or sets it to a typed position.
    • Enter Loca­tion Man­u­ally: Allows you to directly type an address.
    • Clear Loca­tion: Removes the location.
    • Near Loca­tion: Shows the Near Me view so you can view items near to this location.
  4. Tap Save to save the item.

How to change the cen­ter point of the map:

Some­times you might be plan­ning trips or other items out­side of your cur­rent area and you want to see the sched­uled items on a map.

  1. Zoom out on the map by pinch­ing inward, and then tap and hold the area you wish to pinpoint.
  2. Tap and hold the area you wish to pin­point. When you return to the map from a dif­fer­ent area of the app, the map returns to your cur­rent location.

How to fil­ter the items that the Near Me view displays:

You can choose whether or not to dis­play assets, appoint­ments, audio, con­tacts, events, notes, pho­tos, shop­ping items, ser­vice providers, tasks, trips, or video (that have loca­tion set) in the Near Me view.

  1. In the Near Me view, tap the Selec­tor at the right-top of the screen.
  2. Choose My Items if it’s not already selected.
  3. Tap to check the items you wish to dis­play in the Near Me view (your app remem­bers this setting).
  4. Tap View.

How to find busi­nesses or other items near you:

  1. In the Near Me view, tap the Selec­tor at the right-top of the screen.
  2. Tap a cat­e­gory, such as Arts & Enter­tain­ment, Col­lege & Edu­ca­tion, Event, Food, or Shops.
  3. The app dis­plays the selected items.

How to con­vert busi­nesses found from foursquare® to places, sell­ers, banks, and ser­vice providers:

  1. In the Near Me view, tap the Selec­tor at the right-top of the screen.
  2. Tap a cat­e­gory, such as Arts & Enter­tain­ment, Col­lege & Edu­ca­tion, Event, Food, or Shops.
  3. The app dis­plays the selected items.
  4. Tap the item you wish to con­vert and tap Con­vert.
  5. Select Place, Seller, Bank, or Ser­vice Provider.

How to man­age items in the Near Me view:

  1. In the Near Me view, locate the item you wish to man­age. The choices vary depend­ing on the item.
  2. Tap Open and change the data as needed.

How to inter­act with peo­ple from the Near Me view:

  1. In the Near Me view, locate the per­son you wish to com­mu­ni­cate with.
  2. Tap Call, Email, or Text and com­plete the communication.
