WHAT CAN I DO HERE?

The Near Me view gives you one-tap access to a view of your LightArrow app items that are in the vicinity of your current location. To access the Near Me view, tap Near Me in the left pane of the main view. In other words, if you set a location for assets, appointments, audio, contacts, events, notes, photos, shopping items, service providers, tasks, trips, or video you can view these items on the map in the Near Me view, which helps you plan your day — especially if you’re running errands or visiting clients. In addition, the Near Me view is powered by foursquare®, which allows you to search for arts & entertainment, events, food, shops, and other types of businesses near you. If these businesses are businesses that you frequently use, you can convert them to Places, Sellers, Banks, or Service Providers in your LightArrow app directly from the Near Me view.

Note: The Near Me feature requires that you enable Location Services on your device. To enable Location Services on your device, go to your device Settings and tap Location Services (within Privacy), then set Location Services to On. If your LightArrow app appears in the list of applications provided, make sure it is set to On. If your LightArrow app does not appear in the list of applications provided, then the first time you try to set the location for an object in your LightArrow app, you will be asked if you want to allow the app to be able to use your current location — you must grant this request in order to have access to the Near Me features.

USING THE NEAR ME VIEW

How do change the distance or measurement mode of the Near Me view:

By default, the Near Me view shows items within a radius of 5 miles of your current location.

  1. Tap the distance selector at the top of the view.
  2. Choose miles or kilometers, and then choose the number that you prefer (your app remembers this setting).
  3. Tap Set.

How to change the center point of the map:

Sometimes you might be planning trips or other items outside of your current area and you want to see the scheduled items on a map.

  1. Zoom out on the map by pinching inward, find the location, and then zoom back in.
  2. Tap and hold the area you wish to pinpoint.
  3. When you return to the map from a different area of the app, the map returns to your current location.

How to set location for an item:

Tapping the location tile for items (assets, appointments, contacts, events, notes, shopping items, service providers, tasks, trips, or audio) allows you to set a location. The Location icon allows you to set a location for photos and videos (located at the bottom of the screen when you open a photo or video). Past events and appointments do not appear in the Near Me view; events and appointments only appear in the Near Me view if their start or end date is now or in the future.

  1. Open the item you wish to set a location for.
  2. Tap the Location icon or the Location tile for an item.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Full Address: Allows you to type a full address for the item.
    • Set Location to “Here”: Sets the location to the nearest location.
    • Specify/Show on Map: Searches for the location and chooses it or sets it to a typed position.
    • Clear Location: Removes the location.
    • Show Nearby: Shows the Near Me view so you can view items near to this location.
  4. Tap Save to save the item.

How to filter the items that the Near Me view displays:

You can choose whether or not to display assets, appointments, audio, contacts, events, notes, photos, shopping items, service providers, tasks, trips, or video (that have location set) in the Near Me view.

  1. In the Near Me view, tap the Selector at the right-top of the screen.
  2. Choose My Items if it’s not already selected.
  3. Tap to check the items you wish to display in the Near Me view (your app remembers this setting).
  4. Tap View.

How to find businesses or other items near you:

  1. In the Near Me view, tap the Selector at the right-top of the screen.
  2. Tap a category, such as Arts & Entertainment, College & Education, Event, Food, or Shops.
  3. The app displays the selected items.

How to convert businesses found from foursquare® to places, sellers, banks, and service providers:

  1. In the Near Me view, tap the Selector at the right-top of the screen.
  2. Tap a category, such as Arts & Entertainment, College & Education, Event, Food, or Shops.
  3. The app displays the selected items.
  4. Tap the item you wish to convert and tap Convert.
  5. Select Place, Seller, Bank, or Service Provider.

How to manage items in the Near Me view:

  1. In the Near Me view, locate the item you wish to manage. The choices vary depending on the item.
  2. Tap Open and change the data as needed.

How to interact with people from the Near Me view:

  1. In the Near Me view, locate the person you wish to communicate with.
  2. Tap Call, Email, or Text and complete the communication.
